GDT 9/12/23: Braves @ Phillies - Rosario Moves Down

He just needs to get that ERA under 3.5 imo to be a lock. If the season ended yesterday theres probably 5-6 I would vote for ahead of Strider if I was an unbiased voter but its all close enough that these last couple starts could be the difference maker. I dont know if people take FIP and all that **** into account but I dont count hypothetical results. Only the actual results.

Amped Strider is gonna be great for the first 4 innings or so. Then the bloop babips and just missed strike 3 that's ball 4 turn in to 3 run homers.

Counting today, Strider might have four starts left, right? Or three? Anyway, based on the pretty uninspiring NL Cy Young chase right now, I think Strider still has an outside shot at it if he absolutely dominates these handful of starts. He'd need to blow everyone away, but we all know he can do it.

Yeah he’s gotta be lock down the rest of the year but he’s still got an outside shot. I think Steele has come out of nowhere and is the winner at this point.

They had no problem acting like they deserved to be in the world series while finishing in the bottom half of a 5 team division,

Is there a time limit on a home run trot? Because I'd dearly love to see Acuna take, like, 13 minutes to run the bases against them.

I don't see any way he wins it without other guys ****ting the bed. He likely only has 3 starts remaining at most. I highly doubt he goes 4 more starts with the division and homefield likely wrapped up.

Assuming he gave up 0 ER over his next 18 innings, his ERA would still be 3.45. The award will go to either Steele or Snell at this point. I'm hoping for Steele.

For those wondering, the Philthies now only have a 4 game lead on the last playoff spot. They will likely need to go at least 7-10 over their next 17 games to secure a spot. If we sweep our remaining games with them, they would need to go 7-6 among the rest of their schedule.

Man an epic collapse by Philly would be so sweet.

my dream scenario.

Also for Murph to gun down Turner trying to steal tonight.

FWIW, it looks like Thomson’s words were taken out of context by the Philadelphia media. Imagine that.

Eh i read the whole thing and disagree. He said he feels his guys celebrate but basically said they don’t celebrate as much and do a good job acting like they’ve been there before. I don’t think anything was taken out of context
