We’re Just Getting Started

That was pretty awesome. I hope all Braves fans realize just how good this team is. It’s probably the best team we’ve ever had and possibly the best lineup of all time. Amazing.

I think most hardcore fans know. Winning it all would put us on par with great single season teams like the 98 and 27 Yankees. 70 O's and 75 Reds.

The 1995 Indians had a lineup featuring Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Albert Belle, Kenny Lofton and Eddie Murray. They hit .291/.361/.479 as a team. They had 307 oRAR. As that was a strike-shortened season, their totals are very comparable to the Braves' running totals.

The 2023 Braves are currently hitting .275/.343/.501, with 345 oRAR. So the Braves have a very slight OPS lead, and a quite substantial RAR lead. So the Braves definitely compare favorably to that juggernaut.

Interestingly, the 1996 version of the Indians (which had very similar overall stats, so could have compared to them as well), got 98 PA from Kevin Seitzer.

The raw OPS may be a slight lead but the 95 Indians were in the middle of a high run scoring environment. Their WRC+ was "only" 115. Braves are at 125 which is tied with the 27 Yankees as the top mark. This team is it.

Nice article on Yates on FG.

I think him getting the save vs Phillies did wonders for his game and going into the postseason. He and Matzek are two that we have shown real patience with and been rewarded. Gotta think they leave it all out there for the Braves.

The 99 team scored over a 1000 runs.

Can ya’ll name every Braves player that has been on all six division winning teams without looking it up?

Albies is the only one I’m sure of. I think Fried played a little in 2018, too, but obviously not a full season, or he’d be an FA after this year.

Only Albies, Fried, and Minter have been here since day 1 of the current streak. Although Fried bounced around in 2018 and Minter has been up and down a few times. Albies is the defacto leader of the team imo.

I didn't read day 1.. I knew Acuna came up durning that 1st year.. I thought so die Riley.. but maybe he was the next year.

True. Their team stats are still remarkably similar to the previous editions. They had 345 RAR, exactly the same as the Braves current total.

Some interesting names on that 99 team. Lots of former and future Braves. A young Bartolo Colon. Steve Reed and Steve Karsay would go on to be traded for John Rocker 2 years later. And Michael Jackson pitched in 4 games for them. :)

This video obviously is a slight against Murphy. WE are just getting started, but he’s still not ready

There’s been many times in my life where I’ve looked back and wished I’d appreciated something while it was happening more than I did. Not going to let that happen with this team.

This is the best offense in the history of baseball, and I’m making sure to marvel at it every game I get to watch.

I like this version of Enscheff. But agreed. It’s easy to get lose sight on how incredible this team is. Let’s enjoy and win a ****ing World Series
