GDT #13, 4/14/'14: Braves (Santana) vs Philthies (Hernandez); Still no CJ

This dates back to last year and your defending of Harper, railing against the Braves for hitting Harper, etc.

I have strong opinions about when to hit batters and when not to. Unlike some I can see fault, even if it its the Braves.

Yeah, here's the game I was thinking of. Hampton went seven for the Mets and left trailing 5-1. We then added three more off Eric Carmack in the eighth. The Mets scored 10 runs in the bottom of the inning, and Benitez closed it out in the ninth. But Benitez got the win instead of Carmack.

No one is saying to walk Uggla. Someone is saying you don't go after Uggla with your second best pitch when your best pitch is also the batters weakness. Uggla doesnt have the bat speed to catch up to a 97 mph heater.

You guys act like Uggla has no power and it's a huge shock that he hit a homer (despite hitting one earlier). It's not like Laird hit a homer.

I'm not saying that 97 and 92 are the same... they are certainly not. But Uggla crushed a 92 MPH fastball for his first HR

Do you think Gio hit Freeman on purpose?

Gio might of thought Freeman was watching it, but he didnt know where the ball went, truth be told i didnt either, looked foul at first-site then the wind pushed it fair.

But payback is coming for that, you better believe it!

(c) The official scorer shall not credit as the winning pitcher a relief pitcher who is ineffective in a brief appearance, when at least one succeeding relief pitcher pitches effectively in helping his team maintain its lead. In such a case, the official scorer shall credit as the winning pitcher the succeeding relief pitcher who was most effective, in the judgment of the official scorer.

Rule 10.17(c) Comment: The official scorer generally should, but is not required to, consider the appearance of a relief pitcher to be ineffective and brief if such relief pitcher pitches less than one inning and allows two or more earned runs to score (even if such runs are charged to a previous pitcher). Rule 10.17(b) Comment provides guidance on choosing the winning pitcher from among several succeeding relief pitchers.

The way I read it and has been explained by others is that a brief outing is less than 1 inning. Carmack pitched full inning and I believe should be the winning pitcher. I have seen some discussion of this, but haven't read a logical reason (assuming brief

I'll take 20 Fredi bashers over 1 Patio any day.

Then why'd you bring him over here on that lucrative (and dues-funded, I'm sure) contract?

I mean, hell: I can do the work of twenty Fredi bashers for half of what you paid Patio just to come around for one day then go away.

I didn't see it, trying to pull up on MLB.tv, but that has been giving me issues. I did read that Gio apologized to Freeman so its hard to tell.

He promised me something. He became the thing he swore to destroy. He said he would bring peace, prosperity to his new empire. I told him my allegiance was to the Country, the Chop Country. He said if I wasn't with him, then I was against him. Then we had this fight, until ultimately I had to chop his legs and arm off. Then he kept saying he hated me.

Well, I know I personally started bandying about that accusation a few years before 2013, even, back during the gas-leak years.

I'm assuming there's a link in there somewhere, but WHO COULD EVER KNOW?!

Possible it was on purpose, but the pitch was slightly more than 1 inch inside of the plate. Fredi diving in and Gio throwing inside so I'd say data is inconclusive. Looks possible being it was right after Freeman stood at the plate, first pitch of AB, and with first base open.

I'd apologize too if I hit him after he just hit a mammoth homerun off me.

Ha, that one was only 409 feet down the line.

This is a mammoth homer down the line:

So were you watching split screen at the same time, both Braves @ Phils and MIA @ Wash?

Which game had the game audio?
