GDT - 9.27: Game 2, Cubbies at Bravos - Seiya later, Chicago!

I am glad we closed the NL homefield out.. I don't care as much about WS homefield since the only team that would have it over us is also on the east coast. That said, I don't see them finishing behind the O's.

The Cubs announcers bitching about Acuña's "showboating" by removing 2nd base after his steal and taking off his jersey after scoring the winning run.

Talk about some whiny butt hurt losers. That said, their tears are delicious.

They'd have to be a narcissistic aholes to think like that. I'd 100% bet that both FF and Swanson are happy for the Braves continued success.

I think all people think like that. If I left my job, I wouldn't want my business to fail, but it would sting some if it kept on rolling... maybe better than ever

Dude come on… just enjoy it and stop being weirdly butt hurt. It all contributed. You are right on almost everything but you are selling stolen bases short. They are not as valuable as many casuals think but they are more valuable than you are making them out to be. I get the rule changes but I why isn’t everyone stealing 70?

So don’t claim those stolen bases “won the game” as some sort ridiculous hyperbole that fails to prove any point you may have.

I’m not selling SBs short, but I did choose the word “meaningless” very poorly. They absolutely have value, and modern stats very accurately value them compared to every other thing a player can do to contribute to runs. Just because the SB sticks out as a big play in this particular game does not make it any more or less valuable. A double would have been more valuable, and wouldn’t have been celebrated as much.

When I said “meaningless” I meant it relative to everything else Acuna contributes offensively. If he breaks a finger stealing a base, losing out on his offensive contributions for 6 weeks will cost the team more than all the bases he has ever stolen in his entire career.

Seems like the Cubs may not be too happy with that delay from Acuna celebrating. It’s a pretty big talking point on the Cubs post game show.

bush league.. that was something that has never been done.. I know 40/69 hasn't either, but that 70 mark is the next tier. It wasn't like it was 30 minutes long... go cry in your cereal while watch the postseason you douches

Milwaukee has already clinched the division. They can’t surpass the Dodgers. So they might just be resting/cruising.

It's their rival that they can knock out. I think they'll line up rotation, but go for the kill shot with regular starters. They may prefer cubs over brewers though

I’d be grumpy too if my team, while clinging to the last postseason spot, let leads get away in back to back games and lost both of them.

Tell em if the "passed ball" was called right, they wouldn't have even saw that delay

Its so weird how after all these years you can’t understand how fans use the term we to describe the team “we” all watch on a nightly basis.

It’s this odd sense of pride you and other fans have in other mens’ accomplishments. As if somehow you should be proud that you watch a particular team you contribute absolutely nothing to their success.

We indeed lol.
