Not to diminish Robinson's accomplishments, but I feel like it would need to be Ripken to be comparable. So probably a couple of decades away.
 
Not sure if this was mentioned. MLB is creating a Team Silver Sluger Award. Good time for the Braves to have the best offense in the history of baseball.
 
I know it's a small sample, but I think Winans has to be on the playoff roster. He has a 2.74 FIP, ~10 K/9, 2 BB/9... in 5 starts, he's already been worth 0.9 fWAR...

Vines looked really good (yes, channeling my inner Twit) last night. But I think I agree, Winans would be my selection. AJSS needs to be shut down after tonights game. See where he is next year. Wright needs to get 2 more games in from the pen to see if he is viable option for the post season roster. right now he is outside looking in.

I personally think Winans and Vines need to both be there... especially if no Morton... Winans analytics just look more "real." However, Vines does have the kind of stuff I think that may out perform his analytics.

I like to look at these fringe type guy's savant page.. Winans doesn't have multiple quality pitches, but I think he has the right mix to be successful. His change is pretty good with a pretty good delta from his FA/Sinker (7-8mph).. Neither he 4 seamer nor his sinker are great individually.. but I think they play well off each other.. about a 6-8 inch drop diff between the 2 and about the same or a bit more horizontal movement. Then he also has a slider that drops down into the 70s with 40+ inches of drop.. that is actually a pretty good pitch with a 40% whiff rate. He also likes to live in the zone, which I like. His FA/Sinker hits the zone 60ish% and his off speed 50ish.. His off speeds are his out pitches.. the FA/Sinker combo are very avg to below but play well together to keep guys off the barrel for the most part.
 
So to tinker around right now (sorry being a bit of a space case) MLB is looking for 32 teams. Assuming A's relocate to LV I would put my money on the cities most likely to get a team to be Montreal and Oakland. But if Oakland isn't willing to do a stadium deal then I would guess Portland, 1 east coast 1 west coast. This one for ideal build I'm going Portland and Charlotte for ideal builds.

Assume the divisions look a bit like the NFL.

AL East - Yankees, Red Sox, Jays, Orioles
AL North - Twins, Guardians, Tigers, White Sox
AL South - Royals, Texans, Astros, Rays
AL West - A's Portland, Angels, Mariners

NL East - Mets, Nationals, Pirates , Phillies
NL North - Cubs, Cardinals, Reds, Brewers
NL South - Braves, Charlotte, Marlins, Diamondbacks
NL West - Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Rockies

Nothing is perfect about that. I could also see the leagues sliding into 2 divisions like the NHL.

They were using a threat of relocation as a way to gain leverage:

Manfred has made it pretty clear he wants one East coast and one west coast team. Of all of the rumored options, have to think those with the best shot right now are Portland or Salt Lake City, and Nashville or Charlotte.

Everyone seems convinced that it will be Nashville and Salt Lake City. I imagine this gets announced within the next year or 2.
 
Thinking if Nashville and Salt Lake City get the expansion teams, this is how I could see the new division alignment looking like. This includes two teams changing leagues:

NL East: Mets, Nationals, Phillies, Pirates
NL North: Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs, Reds
NL South: Braves, Marlins, Rays, Nashville franchise
NL West: Dodgers, Giants, Padres, Rockies

AL East: Blue Jays, Orioles, Red Sox, Yankees
AL North: Guardians, Tigers, Twins, White Sox
AL South: Astros, Diamondbacks, Rangers, Royals
AL West: Angels, A’s, Mariners, Salt Lake City franchise
 
This is gold all the way around. Absolutely love it. And of course Angel Hernandez is involved. Also, for anyone still wondering why Harper gets called a douche, this is why. A bad call? Sure. But not egregious. If it's Joe Rando at the plate with 21 career plate appearances, I would say 9/10 umps still ring him up. But Harper likely gets the those cals most of the time. His reaction is douchey and further cements his douchiness status.
