Ronald Acuna Jr. 40-40 Club

That makes no ****ing sense you weirdo.

Of course it makes sense. He wanted the cameras to pan to him so he could get more personal screen time. I notice when Ozuna hit the tying homerun Acuna was no where to be found in the dugout to congratulate him but everyone else was......hmmm. Ya'll just need to let it go. He's a great baseball player but not necessarily a good person and definitely not a humble person like the poster wrote.

Wow! Did he step on your toes somehow?

Seems strange to go after him now, and claim you are just being objective…

I am being very objective. I never spoke up before because I had no reason to. His stats speak for themselves as to his baseball prowess and my posts had nothing to do with those. However, when a poster said he is a 'good' person with no supporting evidence at all and saying he is a humble person I had to speak up. No one has addressed that at all. There's very much evidence that he is not a humble person. Also, what is the evidence of his good personage? The only thing I know about him along that line is that he impregnated his girlfriend twice and didn't marry her until just a few weeks ago when she (his squeeze) was going to be deported because her visa had expired and I'm sure take the two children with her. So, I never spoke out about him until the poster said Acuna was humble and a good person.

Acuna has just edged past Betts in fWAR, so there’s no longer much of a debate regarding his base running vs Betts’ defense. The MVP very clearly should be Acuna, and there’s nothing really to debate anymore.

There never was a debate. Betts deserves all the praise for having an amazing season. But unless he had a freak year, you cannot argue 40/40 vs. not.

But Acuna has every single offensive stat advantage. Homers, triples, average, OBP, strikes out less, Runs, basically even on RBIs. No sane voter was going to vote for Mookie because he could play 2B.

I don't expect Ronnie to win Unanimously because people are dumb. But even most DOdgers fans I know would say Acuna is the MVP.

This guy has gotta be a troll fan from another team. Or someone here with a troll account (May be Cy? Seems like his type of humor). There's is a not a chance a rational person would have these opinions.

Okay, I'll tell my sister you said to have a good evening. Have a good evening Ken. BTW did you vote for Matt Olson for the Roberto Clemente award, the MOST prestigious award in all of baseball? ......... probably not because you wouldn't want to take any glory away from your idol. (of course he wouldn't come close to qualifying for this award).

Olson took himself out of the game today because he’s a selfish player. He won’t be getting my vote for the Clemente award.

Sorry I missed all that. To clarify, I said he was humble in interviews. In intelligent reader would've understood what I didn't say or have to say.

I've always been impressed by his behavior and the words he chooses in front of a microphone, especially given his flamboyance on the field. That tells me that he is a much smarter and more thoughtful person than his actions have at times implied.

So happy and proud of him for the season he's had. I don't think it's sunk in yet how good this guy is. Now he has to do it in the playoffs when it really matters and judging by his consistency all year, you'd think he is ready for it.

I can’t qwhite figure out what that person’s issue with Acuña is. Weird to compare him to known scumbags because he has too much fun playing the game. Weird to criticize him for….marrying his long-time girlfriend……. Qwhite the mystery what their issue is with him

Someone a few posts back wrote that Acuna is humble.....NOT....he's a showboat and wants as much attention as he can get. When he was replaced in right field and received an ovation he kept raising his hands trying to get more of an ovation. Humility just a few minutes later was when Matt Olson left the game he received an ovation but all he did was lift his cap in acknowledgement. That's humility.

I'm not sure if you're serious or trolling, but assuming for a moment that you are serious, I'm an older white guy who loves the game, is fairly old school and was taken aback by the antics for awhile. But the game is international and culturally speaking, the crowds and the players in Latin America are much more demonstrative. And hey, they get fired up - you ever watched a Venezuelan or Dominican game? Contrast that with the relatively polite applause-and-a-cap-tip that we grow up with here in the States. And I like that they get fired up (except for the bit where they pimp the home run and then it doesn't go out and the guy's standing on first with a 407' single). Baseball needs more people to get fired up.

I've listened to and watched Ronald for six years now and I do think he's humble, a good teammate, and a family guy. I saw him with his kids in about a five-minute clip recently and it's clear he's an engaged and loving dad. And if you're worried about how long it took to marry his girlfriend, he ain't the lone ranger. 40% of American children are born out of wedlock. Ronald and his wife seem happy and committed.

I do think he's a good guy. I'm glad he's a Brave and will be for a long time. And I, too, hope he gets the ball in the air a little more so those 112 mph rockets end up in the seats.
