Knowing AA pretty sure we get to the other side of the winter meetings without a signing and we are all panicking

I mean our roster is mostly set other than one SP, and LF, and some bench/bullpen tinkering. We dont really need to do a whole lot compared to other clubs out there.

True, but no one saw the Murphy deal coming. It may or not be an earth-shattering move, but I foresee something none of us expected.

Upgrading shortstop and moving Arcia to a utility role would be something no one saw coming. But yes, AA always make at least one move out of left field no pun intended.

I do wonder if Arcia upset the front office by sticking his tongue out at fans during the playoffs. Ronald even knew it was wrong and turned him around. The contract is great and he did a good job. Just needs to grow up. Our biggest needs are LF and SP. hopefully AA doesn’t make us wait till after the new year to address them.
I don't think we would do that. If Arcia isn't gonna start for us I'd expect him to be traded. His contract is incredibly team friendly especially for his production.
If we're gonna take a big money risk on a pitcher I'd personally rather us go after the Captain-Commander

Yamamoto has the age and talent behind him. If we made a big money investment I’d go after him. No QO involved just have to pay a posting fee.
I do think that AA will bring in a good starter. I also think he will take a minor league flyer on a few has beens hoping to get lucky. I expect one of the depth guys to surprise and earn some good starts. From that group, I think Winans and Vines are good possibilities to progress like Elder did a couple of years ago.

I think Yama's profile is exactly the type of deal AA would look for. He's probably a bit overkill for 2024 but now is when he's available and he'd slide in perfectly in 2025 and beyond and would take pressure off of AJSS and Waldrep to quickly become TOR pitchers.

The money quote from the article: "If Milwaukee were able to land rotation help or a potential infield regular in exchange for Adames, a trade would be an excellent way for the club to extend its competitive window beyond the 2024 season without taking too significant a step back in the short-term."
With Grissom and a slew of back end rotation arms, it seems like the needs of both both clubs could line up.
Adames is going into his age 28 season, so AA's "trade for and extend" tactic could certainly apply to him.
While an Adames trade isn't as obvious as a Verdugo/Kepler trade, it certainly fits the mold of moves AA typically makes.
My prediction is AA will not suddenly start handing out long term FA deals and/or losing draft picks to sign FAs. Those 5 guys strike me as most likely, and if I had to pick just 1 I would guess Stroman for 2/45.
However, if the market for someone like Nola, Gray or Montgomery falls apart, I wouldn't be shocked to see AA swoop in and sign the bargain contract.
I don't think it should be ruled out that AA trades Arcia for an OF and uses Lopez as the starting SS. He's shown he can be incredibly valuable at the position and there's probably no better time to try and move Arcia.
