The rates of sexual abuse by non biological parents is far higher than with biological parents. The rate of abuse in the foster care system is staggeringly high. That's why it's insane to take kids from their parents for piddly **** like they smoke pot. There's thousands of cases of CPS taking kids from parents who smoke pot and giving them to foster parents who abuse the kids only for CPS to say they aren't responsible for that abuse. Taking kids from their biological parents without a damn good reason is child abuse. For all the grandstanding from conservatives about protecting kids the Texas foster system is a thing of horrors and the state doesn't give two shots about it. They even had a Judge who was holding them in contempt for ignoring it removed.
