Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Also said Ohtani is down to: Dodgers/Cubs/Jays/Angels, saw that elsewhere. Probably nothing Braves related since we freeze out everyone.

I figure the action will really pick up Monday. Other than Nola and Gray not a lot has happened and we were in on both of those guys.

Were we really in on Gray? Nola yeah, i'm not sure how in we were on Gray. But yeah, i'd expect more action over the next couple weeks before Christmas. Hope AA does something before then, not that we have to do alot but would be nice to add someone lol.

Agreed on the Gray statement. Bowman mentioned in his article that we may be open to moving Iglesias or Ozuna. I'd imagine that would only happen if we make a huge payroll signing.

I can maybe see Ozuna if the right deal came along. AA's built this pen so they can survive injuries. Dealing Iggy would be malpractice.

#Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. through 10 games in Venezuelan winter league: .439/.558/.878 (1.436 OPS), with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers and 11 RBIs.

Speculation of course, but this is what one ESPN reporter said about who gets moved at the meetings.

"Rogers: Knowing that Preller works a bit mysteriously, I'll take the field over Soto. OK, that's a bit broad. I'll go with Dylan Cease and/or Tyler Glasnow. Both are as good as gone. Once the Atlanta Braves add that one more prospect to upgrade their existing offer, Cease -- a Georgia native -- will go home to pitch."

What’s hysterical is that I also believe he’s eligible for rookie of the year in that league. He did get pegged on the wrist which made me cringe but sounds like he stayed in and was hitting homers again the next day.

I think trading Ozuna and Iggy make sense. Specially if you can find the right players.

I believe LF need a upgrade and D’Arnaud and Murphy they can cover C/Dh.

I like Merrifield because he can play LF/2B and bench.

Hopefully AA address the bench and everybody get some rest during the year.

Cease is a good pitcher, and possibly the best available guy other than Burnes and maybe Yama. However, he’s not so much better than guys like EdRod and Stroman that AA should give up some massive package for him.

SOURCE: #BlueJays intensify talks with #Padres for Juan Soto.

The #BlueJays now emerge as the favorites to land Soto.

The #Yankees and #Padres negotiations are stalled due to the prospects package the #Padres are asking for.

Blue Jays are all over the place. Rumors of them trading Bo and Vlad and then them trading for Soto and signing Ohtani.

Don't think trading either makes sense.

Whit's best days are well behind him. Nothing more than a bench bat now. He might be up for that, he's a NC guy.

I'm still a little confused how a 33m dollar, one year contract being traded by a desperate franchise equals a big prospect package.
