Marlins are just being run incredibly poor right now. I don't think Cabrera is anything more than a # 3, but that was worth more than what they got. At the very least, they could have waited till the deadline when teams were desperate and hoped that he was pitching as good or better than last...

I doubt Elder even makes the team out of ST, unless someone else is hurt or he's in the BP as the mop up man. The more likely scenario is that he is traded or DFA'd.

FG doesn't feel as high on Caissia as other sites. He has legitimate 30+ homer power, but his contact rates are mediocre to go along with 29% k rate. He also can't hit lefties and his defensive reports suggest he's relegated to a corner OF position, though he does have 60 grade arm arm. That...

Cubs got a steal here, imo. Caissie is the only prospect of note in this trade and he profiles as a Lars Nootbar/Mike Yaz type of player. Maybe Joc Pederson on the high end. The other 2 guys are lottery tickets.

Falcons gonna stick with Penix or trade for Tua/Murray? I could see Murray going to Pitt but not Tua since he sucks in cold weather. Tua's best spots are Indy or Atlanta, imo (assuming NO and LV aren't interested)

Just coming to post this. Also, mlb.com posted an article with 21 writers picks. Druw made 20 of the 21 lists. The only holdout..... a Mets lackey. Go figure! https://www.mlb.com/news/how-mlb-com-reporters-voted-for-2026-hall-of-fame

Lol. You're really gonna argue terminology? The term "bare minimum" literally already implies that it's acceptable. That's why it's called the bare minimum.

We've filled our main holes with some of the best options on the market. But yeah, totally doing to bare minimum..... And I find it hard to see how saying Kim is the best SS on the market "looking through rose colored glasses." Again, what other SS options are available, either in FA or by trade?

This is true. Peralta has traditionally been more of a MOR pitcher, while Burnes was a legitimate ace. But Peralta is coming off the best year of his career and the pitching market via trade has already been set.

The pitching market could be a little insane after what the Orioles gave up for a mediocre Shane Baz. But I still think the Corbin Burnes trade is the basis for any Peralta trade. In that trade, the Brewers received DL Hall, who was an aging, former 1st round SP that was losing his prospect...

That's a pretty pessimistic viewpoint/projection for a guy that averaged 3.5 fWAR over the prior 3 years to 2025. I would certainly not qualify that as a "minimum acceptable upgrade." Among players that can actually play SS, he was the best player available, either in FA or the trade market...
