    Snit watch is on.

Bobby used platoons to a fault. Even if one side of the platoon may as well have been carrying a toilet paper core to the plate instead of a bat, and the other half could actually hit a little.

    Playoff odds according to Fangraphs

Not really. I mean, AI could handle the strategic decisions better than most managers, sure. But managing the clubhouse is also a major part of the job. Snitker was good at that early on, but for whatever reason he seems to have lost the one positive skill that he brought to the job.

Fair point, but I was mainly focused on the World Series year and after.

    Playoff odds according to Fangraphs

I look at this like firing a college football coach for underperforming and then replacing him with someone on his staff. There may be individuals who could do a better job, but it does nothing to correct the culture. For whatever reason guys aren't playing anywhere near their potential under...

    Playoff odds according to Fangraphs

I get the sentiment, but they aren't going to make wholesale changes midseason. If they fire Snitker before the season ends, it leaves open the possibility that Weiss, Perez, or whoever gets named interim benefits from all the guys underachieving suddenly finding their stride. If an interim...

Honestly what's the difference? Both are replacement level or worse.

Hear me out...Snitker to State as head coach.

Four games, one plate appearance in May. You could be onto something.

Some Personal Thoughts On Brian Snitker

That's pretty much how Snitker became the full time manager.

Some Personal Thoughts On Brian Snitker

I'm sure it's been said multiple times in the thread already, but firing Snitker midseason does nothing but enhance the possibility of the interim being named permanent replacement. Whoever would take over...Weiss, Perez, etc...would almost certainly see a bump in record due to the production...

GDT 5/8/77 Beat the Reds to Schwell en Bach.

I was listening to the 9th while driving home from the gym. When Ben Ingram said Rosario was coming in to pinch hit for White (when ER was actually coming to run for Murphy) I nearly drove my car into someone's yard. I thought, surely to God Snit won't do that two nights in a row.

    5/5/25 - reds game 1

At this point "better than the guy on the bench" is the standard we're applying. It's a low bar.

GDT 4/28/25: Braves @ Rockies - Get That Rocky Mountain High

If so it will probably be as an opener for a bullpen game. Not by design...results will dictate it.

GDT 4/28/25: Braves @ Rockies - Get That Rocky Mountain High

If we need to DH Acuña more, and I agree with those who say it's a good idea, we'd likely be better off having Marcell stand in LF for 20 games or so than bringing in a lesser hitter who might save a few more (or cost a few less) runs.

GDT 4/28/25: Braves @ Rockies - Get That Rocky Mountain High

Assuming he continues to hit at current levels through the end of the year I think you have to bring him back. He should cost significantly less than what it would take to replace his production. If the plan is to rotate Acuña through the DH spot, who do you get that can competently play the...
