...and what I'm saying is we get all giddy thinking Sale, Strider, Schwellenbach are going to have 96 starts. I have no problem projecting 100 wins if they d. But they won't, and we won't. Because every pitcher is required to overthrow what their body infrastructure is really capable of just to...

The Dodgers have given us a post-Driveline pitching model. In order to throw 98, all pitchers will get injured. So you sign 13 starters and just expect half of them to be in the shop. We don't need to get rid of Elder, he's gonna get 20-25 starts. Add Bassitt and maybe another free agent for a...

This was the move that made the other moves a lot better. Overpaid, but so what? It's a year, two with the QO.

He throws a split a third of the time. XBA .163, XSLG .262 and XWOBA .224. He stopped throwing a four seamer without control and started throwing a sinker with excellent control. There’s no guarantee, but the changes he made are stark and data supported and his starting point was with a ++...

Why TF is everybody interested in moving Waldrep? The guy figures it out and then we're going to move him? F@#$ that. Just sign Kim and forget about Hoerner and Neto. They aren't that much better than Kim. And in 2-3 years, one of our SS prospects should be ready to go.

While I understand your point, there's a substantial difference in spreadsheet comfort between somebody born in 1955 and 1963. For instance, I can, in fact, work through my own Wifi and DVR mysteries. We were early adopters, perhaps not as facile as your generation, but I'd be willing to bet WW...

Except he always takes the ball. 75% of the time he's competitive. I think we're done at SP. If we're going to spend another $15M, it should be on Kim.

NL Rookie of the Year Watch

Seven full years in the NPL. I think guys who have reached the top level in their country and then come to America ought not be eligible for RoY. I mean, they're just Hoovering up American awards meant for Americans. And maybe Dominicans.

Braves Acquire Mauricio Dubon For Nick Allen

You got a $16M/yr all star veteran catcher and the reigning RoY, both of whom when healthy will OPS .800 and need 130-140 games. There are 162 at C. That leaves 60-80 for your unidentified .900 OPS guy if you're going to optimize your actual assets the next 4-5 years. If you'd like to trade...

Braves Acquire Mauricio Dubon For Nick Allen

It really opens up your options to use the DH to flex guys instead of locking into one guy. Weiss can rotate catchers, give infielder a day, have a fourth outfielder who actually sees some ABs once in awhile, do some platooning.

Braves Acquire Mauricio Dubon For Nick Allen

Yeah but they now control a guy with a .500 OPS. I would’ve thought Allen was a candidate for DFA, not trade currency for a really nice ML utility player. Guess they really wanted out from under the $5M. Oh well. Nice move, AA. I must say, I like this one better than the Rockies lefty with the...
