First time I have actually gotten truly excited about a Braves related piece of news in a long while. Glad he's back, hope it does lead to him being hitting coach later down the road.
I still have that VHS tape. I watched it so many times, but somehow it still works.
'You don't know what you've got until it's gone' is so true. I knew growing up that I was watching something that would likely never be repeated, and I was watching and hearing in real time amazingly talented...
Really happy Smoltz got in. He was my favorite of the Big Three, and he deserved it. I was fortunate enough to see all four members of this year's class play in person over the years.
Did anyone read about the brouhaha with Schilling yesterday, saying he didn't get in because he's a Republican...
I think one of the main problems comes from the simple fact that they were broadcasters for the Braves. The national media, and those who unfortunately have some semblance of say so in these things, favor certain teams and the Braves generally are not one of them. I'm sure as with many other...
The you have *stellar* broadcasters like Tim McCarver who beat out Skip a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately, a lot of this comes down to politics on the voting committee. Pete sounded so excited to be a finalist, particularly in the year Bobby, Glavine, and Maddux were going in. I...
I'm just now seeing this. In tears.
I knew he was sick years ago. There were articles talking about it, that they thought they had gotten it and then it returned shortly after he MC'd Bobby Cox Day at Turner Field in 2010. I had checked a few months ago, because something randomly made me...
I'm really tempted to go, but it is over 550 miles from me. That kind of distance I tend to reserve for vacation, not a couple days excursion. If I did this, I would probably not make it to Atlanta this year, since that's about the same distance (Atlanta is about 580 miles away).
I definitely...
Has Glavine already had his press conference? I saw it mentioned on ESPN News, but don't see the feed active on the Braves' site.
Really happy for those two. Some of my best childhood memories were watching them on TBS with my grandfather. Maddux should have gotten a higher percentage though...
I have to go with Bud.
I saw a little of this brouhaha on ESPN, and A-Rod continues to be a delusional, self-absorbed nutjob. If he doesn't qualify as a narcissistic personality, I don't know who would.
I am so sad to see Huddy go, but it is what it is I guess. I hate the Giants, but I wish him luck individually anyhow (though not against us).
I just hope we actually get a good vet starter now, but I am not convinced we will.
I just found out about this. I'm in total shock.
I guess I am in the minority, but I love Turner Field. It was the first place I ever saw an MLB game, and I have so many good memories from over the years.
The new spot will be better for me when I visit once a year because I stay to the North...
He's already been the Braves' AAA manager though. He managed Richmond in 2006 before being promoted to Atlanta at the end of that season. Brundage replaced him.
This is a downgrade for him, not an upgrade, IMO. And a strange move at that, to me.
Pretty much.
IA with Matt. I'm sad they didn't win for my sake and the fans' sake, but cannot say I feel sorry for any of them.
Are NONE of these people his friends? How insane.
