FB 95-96, with what appears to be improved command of his secondary pitches. It seems clear he has been focused on working on his secondary pitches today. If he can have the command he has shown today, it should play. Not the overwhelming power of the past, but still effective..

Has he? He’s listed as a3B, and I don’t remember any SS appearances lately. Just checked and you are correct. I wasn't able to watch the early games. How did he look at SS?

It looks like the Braves have decided Gil is a 3B, not a SS. Interesting choice given the need at SS.

My guess is that they will agree to a buyout of the last year, spreading the cost over a number of years.

I have a hunch that the chophouse is going to be a very friendly place for Yaz. I suspect that AA thinks the same thing 😀

I think we are all forgetting that we have a new pitching coaching staff. They are likely having a major impact on how the pitchers are preparing for the season. I know patience is hard, but rushing to judgement after one, or even two abbreviated ST appearances is likely jumping the gun a little.

I would like to see Gil getting more defensive run. I really want to see how he does at SS.

That’s the reason most trades don’t happen. Not a good idea to trade a few good players for one good player.

I am really interested in seeing the changes made by our new pitching coach. I know I will be mocked for saying this, but some of these guys might be better with a new approach. It might just make some of the criticisms of the past a little bit less obvious and important. Obviously we won’t...
