Zito's Song of the Day

I've been on a bender of assessing music in film. And I really do think Howard SHore fucking smoked the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Like I feel like the movies are only about 5% as good without the movies. Like the theme the shire is perfect. It makes you feel like you're home.


 
This scene in Sinners was so good, it's such a fucking wild composition. Ludwig is truly a genius. The 808 cicada high hat with traditional african instruments, a blues hook, funk elements, etc. blending together, makes for a choatic but beautiful composition. Got to be IMO song of the year for the Oscar front runner.

 
Had a discussion with a coworker about closer music, and I said ignoring ones that already super huge and popular (Enter Sandman, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Thunderstruck, etc.) I told him without missing a beat I think mine would be Youth Gone Wild, probably with a reduced verse to get to the refrain before I have to throw to a hitter
