2025 Trade Deadline Thread

If things keep going the way the have been, the Braves will be in the upper reaches of each round of the 2026 draft and getting a comp pick to add to the bonus pool amount could be very helpful.
Braves don’t have anyone eligible for a comp pick.

OK, so 91.1 - 88.2 = 2.9, and 2.9 mph is a massive drop in EV.

Profar without roids is a replacement level player.
Look I'm just trying to be optimistic here and in a season full of dog shit.

If he can be a .750ish OPS hitter, he can be useful.

AA got duped by a one hit wonder fueled by the tacheat drug family. He needs to cut bait the best he can and send that fucker packing. Admit you got fooled and don’t compound it by playing a cheating scrub.

I don't mind Profar but Harris would have to be above average and we already know Acuna will be. We've seen what have 2/3 of your OF being crap all year looks like and we can't have that again next year. Either try to trade Profar in the offseason or use him as a 4th OF next year to spell the COF guys. Soler I thought would be hard to move but he got traded pretty quickly.

Reading that the Rangers may have to unload some salary to make any additions. And they want to make improvements in the pen. Going over the Luxury tax a third time would really penalize them and they do not want to do so.

I'd think we could cover salary and really get what we want.

A couple of MLB.com writers made their deadline predictions and both had Ozuna going to the Rangers. Straight guesses I assume, but he makes a lot of sense for them.

I didn't listen to it, but someone on X said MLB Radio guys were discussing Iggy. They mentioned AA is waiting is taking calls on Iggy but he probably won't be moved until after the reliever market starts heating up. AA is willing to eat money and whatever team misses out on the top guys will be more open to trading prospects for a free Iggy.

This strikes me as a pretty reasonable approach.

I'd guess the Rangers also. Make em take Bummer and eat both salaries this year.
While don’t agree with dumping Bummer, this is the type of creative trade I expect from AA. Use the Braves available payroll to extract bigger returns from other teams.
