I have said from the outset that I have no real qualms with his deportation. I have an issue with us doing the exact things we’re doing like sending him to CECOT without him being convicted of a crime, calling him a human trafficker and child predator without evidence of him being either, and sending him to Uganda. It’s possible to not like the man or feel that he’s a good person and still hold the view that the government should be held accountable for not doing severe human rights violations.

This motherfucker had better come with something real, substantive and medically supported. I don’t trust for a moment that after the great efforts of doctors and scientist for decades to understand the causes of autism that the government just found it just in time for their self-imposed deadline. This touches me personally and I will burn this fucker down if my son ends up caught in the middle of some hellstorm because our dipshit President and his celebrity cabinet need to speculate to pretend they solved autism.

Absolutely, and I also think if the increased dependence on digital communication and media isn’t outright causing an increase, it’s at the very least leading to reduced coping abilities for those that have it and causing more pronounced symptoms and diagnoses.
I know at least anecdotally that my son and I have a lot of the same triggers and symptoms, but I had a much easier time adjusting and adapting, and I think a lot of it had to do with the increased immersion to varied in-person social interactions as a child.

The federal stake in private companies and plan to allow 600k Chinese students are both really disappointing.
An argument could at least be made for the former, to even the playing field with foreign competitors with unpublished national subsidies. I would disagree with it, but I can at least understand the reasoning.
We should never be educating anyone from a hostile nation, and every Chinese national signs collaboration agreements with the Chinese government prior to being allowed to study here. This is just offering them 600k more opportunities to place spies inside the country.
