Add a big bat in there for the OF that can DH also and I'm in.Woodruff, Iggy, and Devin Williams would have the staff locked and loaded

This is huge. Especially the 2nd paragraph.Ozzie is showing real signs of life this 2nd half. Since the break he has a slash line of .273/.339/.436 (.775 OPS). .334 wOBA and 113 wRC+. These all fall right in line with his career numbers,
More importantly, he is back to mashing LHP. In his 43 PAs against LHP this 2nd half, he has a slash line of .390/.419/.561 (.980 OPS), with a .416 wOBA and 169 wRC+. To me, this the most encouraging sign. The numbers vs RHP having been climbing back towards career numbers for a few months now. But his strong side production is what has really tanked his production this year.
That's definitely intentional. What a crappy dude
I hope soIggy wins NL reliever of the month for August.
We're gonna bring him back
It wouldn't be the worst thing. But we need to bring in another high level reliever.Iggy wins NL reliever of the month for August.

yes and drop the whole closer term from the team's dictionary. have 3-4 high leverage guys that you can count on to finish a game and pitch them based on leverage. If that mean Iggy in the 8th to the heart of the order that has 2 RHH, then that is when he throws.. or the 6th inning with bases loaded and the top of the order due up...It wouldn't be the worst thing. But we need to bring in another high level reliever.
His first half was disastrous but he's really rebounded the 2nd half. I wouldn't go 15 per for him but somebody might.hard to say what Iggy will be looking for. I doubt a 1 year deal will get him.. but wonder if a 2/30 would. That is pricey for a reliever of his age, but he continues to show he can get guys out.
first half was bad, but he wasn't used correctly and the pitch selection was suspect. I think the days of Iggy going 3 straight days should be in the past. I think the days of Iggy trying to go 30+ pitches should be in the past. He needs to be a high leverage guy that is called on to go one inning when there are 2+ RHH coming up.His first half was disastrous but he's really rebounded the 2nd half. I wouldn't go 15 per for him but somebody might.
The late-season rebounds of a bunch of guys is heartening, but unfortunately teams play 162 games and Iglesias looked cooked for the first few months of the season. It all depends on cost, but at his age I wouldn't be backing up the truck to the vault to sign him.His first half was disastrous but he's really rebounded the 2nd half. I'd do that. Hopefully we can pump out more guys that can be those elite BP arms rather than spending crazy money on them. Munoz can be a high leverage guy if he can rein it in just a little. JJ and Lopez can be 2 high leverage guys also if they are used right but I don't trust Snit to handle the BP.Kenley Jansen signed for 1 yr and 10 million this past off-season, despite a significantly better 2024 than Iggy has had this year.
Iggy isn't getting 3 years. It's doubtful he gets 2 years. He'll probably have to settle for the same 1 year 10 million type of deal than Jansen did.
