Tankathon draft pick watch

We are a -207 favorite. Yankees are a -185 favorite over Baltimore. Royals are a -144 favorite over the Athletics.

Our 10-0 run is frustrating, all we had to do was go 9-1 instead and we’d be locked into the #4 odds. But we can make it all right today - all we have to do is find a way to lose.

It was like 2016 all over again. In 2016, the Braves went 12-2 in their last 14 to go from the 1st or 2nd pick to the 5th pick in the draft.

In 2025, the Braves go 11-3 in the last 14 to go from the 2nd or 3rd best lottery odds to 6th.

The draft order won't fall exactly like the odds predict. There will definitely be some shockers and hopefully it's us that gets some luck for a change.

I understand the benefits of tanking but I just can’t rationalize with being upset/disappointed that my team won 10 games in a row

(Especially since Drake Baldwin was one of the main reasons we won some of those games and his hot streak earned him ROY and an extra draft pick)

The 2nd half of the season was managed as poorly as the first half, resulting in mediocre draft pick odds and no additional prospect capital at the deadline. It’s literally impossible to have played the last few months of the season any worse.
This all day.

That's a good point about Baldwin.

Baldwin should have been getting those same PAs earlier instead of Ozuna and his broken hip.

Baldwin could have produced just as well without rentals on the roster.

who is saying Baldwin shouldn’t have gotten Ozuna’s plate appearances? And what does that have to do with the point I was making

You said you can’t be upset with the Braves winning games late in the season, and the reasoning you gave was partly due to Baldwin’s contributions leading to his RoY award.

So I pointed out he could have gotten just as many PAs, and won the award, even if the Braves didn’t misplay the entire season.

Right… as I said Baldwin earned ROY in part because of the hot streak he was on during the 10 game win streak which is why I’m not devastated our draft position was hurt by that.

Your second paragraph isn’t related to the point of post. Otherwise, it’s a self defeating because replacing broken hip Ozuna with a better player just means we would have won more games earlier in the season and have even worse draft odds.
