2025-2026 offseason thread

Just listening to interviews, watching the moves, and thinking through everything we’ve heard externally, I actually think this team will operate with more money than we expect. The $50M range seems pretty logical to me, and I genuinely believe the extra "Drake" pick and slot value will make for an unusually aggressive offseason for the Bravos. It’s absolutely an “I’ll believe it when I see it” situation, but I still feel pretty confident we’re going to see plenty of moves.

We can do just fine with a defensive only SS like Allen but we have to get above average production from every other position. Having a glove only SS then 2 other black holes in the lineup is the problem. We need some platoon players who can play multiple positions. With DH being wide open we should have no reason those players wouldnt sign with us.

I mean the braves need to upgrade more than SS. Giving Kim a contract that's too rich may hurt more than it helps. Look, I hate AA, but damn, he hasn't made one move, and there's already talk of an offseason failure. That kinda jumping to conclusions makes even me blush.
there is enough money to make a few good upgrades. there is no reason a team as profitable as the Braves is staying under the tax.

It’s frustrating that the Dodgers have $70M+ to spend and they will absolutely spend… but it’s the Braves’ own fault they won’t operate at that level. That said, if the Braves really have around $50M and are willing to move assets in a trade, they’ll have plenty of capital to address their needs.

I have faith we are going to do better than Dubon and Ozuna as our big offensive additions. But if that indeed ends up being the plan, I would rather tear the team down and rebuild. Spinning our wheels in the field of mediocrity is not something I am interested in watching.

That will happen when AA gets fired.

I think they're gonna spend pretty big. You don't come out and say you're gonna spend, and then don't without it causing some backlash.

Jake Fraley was just DFA'd by the Rays. So for those who were poo pooing the fact that we traded him away, the Rays also decided he wasn't worth it either.

JJ Bleday was also DFA'd and I really hope we put in a claim for him. He's a better version of Kelenic and a terrific option as a 4th/5th OFer.

What happened to bleday? 3 fWAR guy 2 seasons ago

It is pretty strange considering they played in an extremely hitter friendly park this year. But Rooker and Butler also had large decreases in production. He did hit much better in the 2nd half with an .801 OPS for what it's worth.

Defensively, he is essentially Kelenic as well. He technically has the ability to play CF, but he's a terrible defender there. He has a strong arm, but not great instincts at the corner spots.

They did it last year lol but i'd be beyond shocked to see them do it again
They kinda have to this year. Need a SP, bullpen help, SS, and some situation for the DH. Plenty of money off the books and reset the tax. I too would be pretty surprised if they did what they did last year. I think they'll make at least one big free agency move at the very least.

you guys are talking about the same man that kept Iggy, Ozuna and prince albert to help win a few more meaningless games just to watch them walk/released with nothing more than a pat on the back.

Because the Braves are committed to winning. Not selling assets in a lost season absolutely stupid, but it's pretty clear ownership wanted no part in backing down.
