2025-2026 offseason thread

Keep dreaming on the Murphy trade, but I would imagine there is next to zero chance it happens this off-season. He isn't going to hold any real value until he proves he's healthy.
Good catchers arent easy to find. I dont think it's crazy. I dont know if the Seager stuff is true but Murphy with other pieces for Seager would work.

I mean, Seager has 6/189 left on his deal, thats honestly market value at this point. But you'd hope a little bit if we gave them a good prospect in return plus Murphy.
Yeah his deal for what he brings isn't that bad. But AA would no doubt wanna get it below 30 per. With the extra draft pick and having a high pick at 9 he'd probably be more willing to trade some.

Bowman said the Braves are still pursuing shortstop.
Idk if they'll wait for Boras and Kim. Dubon as a backup is perfect, an everyday guy is very much needed. No idea if they can do Seager but fuck it, go all in.

Like Cheff said earlier. 5 years down the road won't matter on Seagers salary with everybody else gone or rebuilding so just go for it while we have Sale and Acuna. There comes a time to push the chips in and now is definitely the time.

Well, it definitely seems like a good roster fit (strong side platoon with good defense in the corners). Kinda surprised at the timing and acquisition cost though. His market must've been strong. The guaranteed money being spread over 3 years suggests we're optimizing the contract for the CBT tax (which I think bodes well for the payroll this year and beyond).

Oracle Park ranks 26th out of 28 in park factors for LHH over the past 3 years, so I could see a bump coming now that he's out of there. Looks like he did have an uptick after the KCR trade. He's gonna be 35 though, so not gonna get carried away with that thinking. Pretty solid "raise the floor" move, which is one of my favorite kinds of moves.

Love this move for Yaz. Wasn’t on my radar at all but that’s a really solid signing. As was noted, both Dubón and Yaz provide nice versatility.

Thinking about it, Max Kepler last offseason isn’t a bad comp for Yaz this year. Kepler got 1/$11m last offseason, and is three years younger.

SF to Atlanta should help him alot. But now we need some pitching upgrade, and someone at short.

Murphy isn't even guaranteed to start the season healthy. It wouldn't surprise me if he and Profar didn't split DH duties for most of the season.
