2025-2026 offseason thread

This is what a 27 year old with TOR potential costs. The extra revenue his presence generates probably pays for that contract by itself.
this all day... you won't get a 27 year old established starter for that... If that is his cost, then AA should be in on that and hope they can attract some Asian born players to the team.. that market will only get bigger..

It's obviously a totally different level, but it's the same situation when people laughed about paying nearly a billion for Shohei. Obviously, that's a lot... but his presence in Japan alone paid for his contract within like a year. Breaking into these international markets is strategic brilliance.

Why even waste time worrying about that guy? If he really does have TOR potential, he will be a dodger. If he isn't a dodger, he probably isn't that good

Assuming he's good, that's true. If he's Kenshin Kawakami, he won't be generating any revenue.

On MLBNetwork today they were talking about teams having concerns about his fastball playing in MLB and that some teams think he may be a bullpen arm. Take that for what its worth. $150-175m is a pretty expensive bullpen piece lol
