If I were trying to aggressively assert religious dominance over my neighbors, I don’t know that organizing an annual prayer event with the city that passes out free food after is the way I’d do it.

A U.S. Navy sailor was medically evacuated Saturday afternoon from an American nuclear-powered submarine by Danish military forces, according to a U.S. and Danish official.
The submarine broke from its mission and surfaced about eight miles from Nuuk, Greenland, an extraordinary step for a vessel designed to remain hidden beneath the sea in secrecy.
The sailor was airlifted by a Danish Defense Seahawk helicopter, deployed from the Vædderen, a Danish military patrol ship.
It's unclear what the nature of the medical emergency was, but it was not combat-related, according to the U.S. official.

Well yeah, there’s literally no issue with what happened with the submarine and it’s great that Denmark answered the call. Seems like a simple thank you would be easier than pretending we’re sending a hospital boat to tend to a non-existent Greenlandic health crisis being ignored by Denmark. Unfortunately the President has opted for the latter.

I dunno man, that’s a very interesting way to define the use of soft power. A sailor on a submarine got sick and the Danish military supported our troops by assisting in getting that sailor timely medical care. The President in turn invented a fake pretense for a fake action he was taking to support Greenland residents. I’m not quite sure how the use of lying and propaganda is a useful soft power tactic in this case.
