A U.S. Navy sailor was medically evacuated Saturday afternoon from an American nuclear-powered submarine by Danish military forces, according to a U.S. and Danish official.

The submarine broke from its mission and surfaced about eight miles from Nuuk, Greenland, an extraordinary step for a vessel designed to remain hidden beneath the sea in secrecy.

The sailor was airlifted by a Danish Defense Seahawk helicopter, deployed from the Vædderen, a Danish military patrol ship.

It's unclear what the nature of the medical emergency was, but it was not combat-related, according to the U.S. official.

And it’s a non-prayer ground for them 364 days and 22.5 hours a year, including times when other religions and groups have events. You’re ultimately claiming that because terrorists attacked us 25 years ago that Muslims should live in the shadows.

Yes, this ability for religious minorities to safely practice their faith in public is a feature of America, not a bug.
 
Medical facilities on submarines are pretty spartan by necessity, there just isn’t room or need for much. If a carrier group, amphib group, or even a Coast Guard ship had been closer then the sailor would have been evaced in the same way to them.

Well yeah, there’s literally no issue with what happened with the submarine and it’s great that Denmark answered the call. Seems like a simple thank you would be easier than pretending we’re sending a hospital boat to tend to a non-existent Greenlandic health crisis being ignored by Denmark. Unfortunately the President has opted for the latter.

Why must it be implied that everything I post about is so dire? The President was being an asshat and I felt like calling him an asshat. Not entertaining any thoughts of self-harm or revolution as a result. I was satisfied to just call him an asshat.

I just don’t know why the two events are being shown as dependent. Trump is using soft power to exert influence over Greenland.

I dunno man, that’s a very interesting way to define the use of soft power. A sailor on a submarine got sick and the Danish military supported our troops by assisting in getting that sailor timely medical care. The President in turn invented a fake pretense for a fake action he was taking to support Greenland residents. I’m not quite sure how the use of lying and propaganda is a useful soft power tactic in this case.
 
Finally some more engagement with cartels - This is going to be messy but the most important thing Trump can do aside from mass deportations.
