All things considered the bargain was definitely worth it, but that deal Matzek and Rosario struck with the devil before the 2021 postseason has a very long, very sharp tail.
Opens up guys to trade for now or at the deadline.

yes, there is money to play with at least at the break.
I think internal options will be used until then.
I would imagine the money is available as soon as the suspension is announced. That said, if he appeals, then the org might be hesitant to use it until that is settled. If he were to somehow win an appeal, then the org would be over the third tier.

If the Braves want to add an impact bat, it'll have to be via a trade now. Cutch, Winker and Kepler are the only real bats out there.

I wouldn't mind bringing anyone of those guys in on a minor league deal with a few million escalator if they make the big club.. but I wouldn't pay Gio anything close to what he is apparently asking.
Interesting name in the minors I wouldn't mind seeing is Mcabe. switch hitter.. not sure why he isn't in camp tbh.

The Braves already have their guy in Ben Gamel. You guys know how AA works.
I mean, that $18 million would’ve been nice before all the good options signed elsewhere.

The real shame is we still owe him $15 million in 2027. I highly doubt he makes that on our roster.
