I think AA is working on a multitude of trades to clear out our logjam of AAA starters, trade Pina in a seller’s market and clear one of Ozuna/Rosario while addressing LF and SS with modest upgrades from Arcia/Rosario

Joey Votto is owed $25M this year and a $7M buyout the following year. That’s pretty close to the $36 Ozuna is owed. They’re stockpiling prospects. This is assuming Votto would even agree to be traded or a DH.

Cohen is the next Wayne Huizanga. He’s gonna try like hell to buy a World Series for his ego.

Agreed, we can’t offer him a QO, he’d no doubt take it. I think avoiding arbitration with something like a year 3 year 22M deal might be smart.

If Jimenez duplicates the season he had last year, he’s going to get paid. He’ll only be 29 his first season of the new contract. He’s only projected for 2.7M this year.

I assumed that when Arcia was required we were moving on from Dansby, and I thought the same when Riley was extended. I think that’s when Dansby was approached. Either way we’ve known Dansby was gone to the highest bidder.

Unless we can find a trade where we can just move our excess pitching and get an impactful player back, Conforto seems like the smart move for LF. I think I’d rather keep our few position prospects and sign Conforto than overpay for someone like Reynolds.

Surely teams are calling us about Elder/Muller/Anderson seeing the market for starting innings.

It won’t be hard to trade Pina. Almost every team is looking for a capable catcher, and supply is limited. I think the Murphy interest was/is real. My guess is AA is seeing the desperation and trying to corner the market so he can set better terms.
