NL Rookie of the Year Watch

This has been over for a while now. Horton has 10 wins and a sub-3 ERA for a high-profile team that’s going to the postseason. He is getting the most votes.

    Tankathon draft pick watch

The Braves will probably randomly sweep the Tigers and wind up screwing things up.

    REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Correct. If anyone is seriously emotionally invested in the Falcons, that's on them. Quite literally before the game, I texted a group thread, "Happy first Sunday of second and third quarter napping and waking up to watch the Falcons screw it up in entertaining fashion to all who celebrate."

GDT 9-7: Roku Game at 12:05: Ronald Acuna Batting 7th

Really sad that they’ve turned into a bland, mediocre, overpriced appetizer

I don't see much need for Strider to pitch again this season.

Because he's pitching for a playoff team and a high-profile one at that. If he's within sniffing distance, he's going to get it.

Baldwin could hit 2-3 homers off Horton, and the majority of voters are still going to pick Horton. Let's be realistic.

If he's back, the Braves should just pitch Luke Williams that entire Pirates series to close out the year.

Buehler will be the latest in a long line of “too late” pickups by the Braves.

GDT 8-23: Nick Allen's Day Off

16 straight coming up against the Phillies, Cubs, Mariners, and Astros. Throw in three with the Tigers. And we've been bad against bad teams. I think we'll be ok.

    2025 Around The League Thread

MLB just continues to cut itself below the knees. Dodgers-Padres going back and forth. The one competitive division race. Two teams that thorougly dislike each other. And their Sunday game isn't being nationally televised.

Hate that for Wheeler. He's an outstanding pitcher who we should have signed years ago. Of course if we had, this probably would have happened to him right away.

    2025 Around The League Thread

The AL/NL concept has already been neutered by interleague play and every team playing every team. That said - a bunch of teams would still have to play a couple time zones away to balance the leagues.

GDT 8-17: Hot in Cleveland; Going for a Sweep

If this team had simply not shit itself against the Angels, Orioles, and A's, they'd be right in the thick of things.

We're even having bad calls break our way.

    GDT 8-16: Braves at Guardians

I suspect what will happen is the Braves will continue to play on a heater for the rest of the month, even hold their own in Philly. The reality check will come in September when they play 12 straight games against the Cubs, Mariners, and Astros to open the month.

    GDT 8-16: Braves at Guardians

85 would probably be the absolute minimum amount of wins it would take. That means they have to go 30-9. Here's what the other teams have to do to get to 85: Mets - 20-19 Reds - 21-17 Cardinals - 24-14 D'Backs - 25-13 Giants - 26-13 Marlins - 27-12
