Cherry picked? It's literally his last 266 innings. He had a good 3 month stretch to start his rookie that was propped up by bubble gum ands scotch tape. But he's been exactly the same pitcher since July 2023. Which is a 5+ ERA pitcher.

He might be able to get a similar deal. 1 year around 10-15 mil with a 2nd year option. But yeah, he isn't getting a major pay day. It probably isn't worth the risk to decline the option.

Elder is not even a #5 starter. He doesn't need associated with the Braves after 2025. He is beyond terrible.
