    GDT 7/17/19: Day Drinkin

There was a chance they wouldn't given Ender his job back, but well...he's getting his job back for sure. Gonna play CF and hit 8th tomorrow. Riley's going down. The thing is, the only thing that I really think it does is provide a breather for him. He walked 11.1% of the time this year in...

    GDT 7/17/19: Day Drinkin

yeah, this isn't really a smart argument today. If we're going to talk about the division, it might get close, but the Nationals are finally going to see teams that are the not-Royals and not-Orioles as well.

    GDT 7/17/19: Day Drinkin

I'm not nuts. This is not a great year for the NL, WC #2 is probably going to be an 85 win team from what I can tell. For the disastrous idea of Braves getting in legit danger to miss, it'd take a 27-39 finishing out record. A 66 win pace. Even when the Braves were struggling earlier, it was...

    GDT 7/17/19: Day Drinkin

yep Maybe if this wasn't a year the central was a mess, if we're going to go negative, there'd be a serious threat to miss with a massive slump, but the central and most of the rest of the NL is a mess. 85 wins will make WC2. This is a playoff team, and likely a division winner.

    2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

Yeah if he's a middle of the rotation starter that has gotten lucky, then Soroka has gotten lucky to some extent too. Castillo: 2.41 ERA, 3.67 FIP, 3.72 xFIP Soroka: 2.24 ERA, 2.95 FIP, 3.60 xFIP Soroka's xFIP-ERA split is even bigger. Although FIP probably does tell the story better on him.

GDT 7/14/19: A permanent lineup change?

Actually developmental purposes. I don't have access to the athletic but I saw the snippet about it. They wanted him to stop swinging at pitches out of the zone as much as he did.

GDT 6/13/19: Keep the steak alive

Flowers talked **** to Contreras but really he got his balls stolen by him and has the yips now badly.

TUESDAY MINORS FINAL 7/9/19; Inciarte strong day in rehab

It’d be one thing if Waters was running a slightly elevated BABIP and didn’t strike out much (like what Ozzie Albies did in AA when there was a period where he was running a BA around .400 on the season down there 3 years ago), but he’s running one that is .454, and strikes out a lot. Oh, and...

    GDT 7/6/19: Fillet-O-Fish for everyone

I'd rather Kevin Gausman take his spot. That's how completely and totally putrid this start was.

    GDT 7/6/19: Fillet-O-Fish for everyone

You have it backwards. Outside of Nick Anderson their RP isn't very good. 4.99 ERA.

    GDT 7/6/19: Fillet-O-Fish for everyone

They're simply sitting on Fried's straight fastballs. That wasn't even in the zone, but a straight fastball is very easy to hit. For the record, he had a very, very shaky start vs the Marlins tbh last time too. Dude really needs to revisit the 2-seamer.

GDT 7/4/19: Fireworks on the 4th

Welp...they sat sinker on Soroka and while a pitch or two was bad, they hit a few really good pitches. Tonight would be the night to have the 4-seamer.

TUESDAY MINORS FINAL 7/2/19; Another 1-0 loss?!?

Acuna didn’t make significant adjustments until the ASB. I honestly think if he doesn’t sprain his knee, Soto probably does win ROY last year. The hand positioning that he came up with was just not going to be viable and his numbers would’ve probably taken a major hit if he didn’t get hurt...

GDT 7/2/19: DK’s first home start

This was his third straight start of 8 IP 0-1 ER. So I don't think it was, and I think this is Nola getting back to the "Ace Nola" of last year.

GDT 7/2/19: DK’s first home start

A jump wasn't really necessary, but that was not five feet from out. To my eyes it was a lot more like 1-3 feet.

    Acuña in HR Derby!

That's been the word. Maybe it changed fairly recently but there's been chatter about how he's put together jaw dropping batting practices with his power (beginning in late 2016 by David Lee on twitter before the breakout). There's also been word about how guys don't try to swing for HRs anymore...

GDT 6/30/19: Back to a meh GDT - Albies out

Outside of the one to Frazier, Fried looks like he doesn't have feel for the curve tonight at least so far. Although he did just snap off two good ones that just missed. So now three. The others have been thrown away.

FRIDAY MINORS FINAL 6/28/19; ANDERSON ANCHORS NO-HITTER!

Anderson might be a similar case to Fried in that his off speed pitches will make him who he is, not the fastball...

    GDT: B @ C 62419

Actually it was the opposite here. I read an old scouting report of Ozzie just to refresh my memory and that scouting report said that he's a plus plus hitter but is unlikely to hit more than 8-10 HR a season. Whereas with Dansby it was that he probably had the ability to hit more than 12-15...

    GDT: B @ C 62419

Some of it is, but it was obvious in the last two years that the pop was coming. He hit just 6 HRs in 2016, but a guy from another channel of mine said that he watched some batting practices with him as a 19 year old and he was hitting balls way out of the park in the Southern League's chasm parks.
