    Uggla released; Pasotornicky called up

They can't recall for another few days. You have to remain down in AAA for 10 days unless there was an injury

Even if that is the case he still can't return until the 24th at the earliest because of the 10-day rule.

He can't be unless there is an injury. You have to stay down for 10 days unless there is an injury. So even if they do release Uggla this week, Gosselin can't return until the 24th.

The Official It's Better for Everyone That Dan Uggla's Done Thread

Well, looks like we're stuck with Uggla all year, Braves just optioned Gosselin back to Gwinnett, so I guess Wren likes playing with a 24-man roster all year long.

The Official It's Better for Everyone That Dan Uggla's Done Thread

I'm still not convinced Wren will admit his mistake and DFA Uggla, but for everyone concerned it's the right move. It's not fair to keep handicapping Fredi G with a 24-man roster. And its not fair to Dan, give him a chance to have a fresh start someone else.

GDT #95: July 13, 2014 Braves (Teheran) @ Cubs (Not Our Wood) 2:20 EST

Avilan is terrible, I'm not sure they can wait to the trade deadline to get a lefty. He needs to head down to AAA to work out whatever his problems are.

:Wren capitulates, promotes Gosselin to satisfy bloodthirsty Chop Country mob.

They couldn't have brought Pastornicky because he just went on the DL at Gwinnett. But I do agree with the sentiments that this is more than a one day thing for Gosselin. I have never heard of the Braves suspending a player like that for one day. Don't know what it is, but we all know if you...

Yes it does, that is the roster move according to Braves twitter. He is off the roster for one day, so that is the move.

I don't necessarily agree with Bowman about Uggla. If they were sending down a pitcher, why wouldn't they just go ahead and announce that move. Also, why allow Gosselin to play in last night's AAA game at all. He was pinch hit for in that game before getting the call, which leads to believe that...

The Official It's Better for Everyone That Dan Uggla's Done Thread

I agree with most of the sentiments here, however, there is nothing official yet about this move being Uggla related, so until the Braves make something official, I will believe it when I see it.

This whole thing is odd timing, first of all, I don't think it's Uggla, because Gosselin's 40-man spot was created by Beato's outright and if it were Uggla, he could simply take his spot. My guess is there must be an injury we don't know about, Pena perhaps, but Pena didn't play today, so that...

GDT 7/11/14: BRAVES (Wood) vs CUBS (Arietta), 4:05 game!

Braves outright Pedro Beato off the 40-man roster today. Wonder if that is a prelude to some other move.

Ok thanks, I just wished the beat guys would have said squeeze on their tweet and then I would have gotten it.

I can't watch the game right now, explain how the damn run scores on a freakin sac bunt. When it should have stay put at 3rd and the sac should have gotten him to 2nd.

GDT 7/10/14: Braves (Harang) @ Mets (Colon) 7:10 PM

Aaron "Freakin" Harang. All the man does is give you 7 innings and less than 3 runs. I don't know how, but he does it.

    GDT - 7/9/2014 - Braves at Mets

By the way, the Braves scout in attendance has to like what he saw from Wesley Wright, he struck out 2 Reds and got a weak ground out sandwiched around a single.

    GDT - 7/9/2014 - Braves at Mets

Not to demean Paul Byrd here, but that would hold much more weight with me if a hitter like Brian Jordan said it instead of a pitcher. That being said though he's right. All this team needs to do is look at the approach they took in their 9-game winning streak and see the results there.

What did he say, I was watching Wesley Wright pitch for the Cubs.
