The Braves are really screwing the pooch in this homestand. They really had a chance to make hay, but anything less than 8 and 3 would be considered a disappointment, now they have to sweep the Padres to even manage a 7 and 4 homestand.

What a dreadful performance there by Gattis, he's got to stop the damn ball in the dirt when he knows a slider is coming. The Braves are going to lose 3 out of freakin 4 to the freakin Marlins, this team is a playoff team my ass.

I mentioned this before, but perhaps if they trade with the Cubs for one of their lefties, either Wright or Russell, maybe they could get Ruggiano thrown in there, although the addition for the bench would likely take Pastornicky's place, so it probably would have to be a middle infield type.

Also with Hale having worked so many innings last night, Schlosser is a good call in case you need another long man tonight. He's been a starter at Gwinnett.

I would add Justin Ruggiano of the Cubs to that list as well.

Someone mentioned Tommy Hanson, that seems like a pretty good comparison and the Braves eventually got rid of him. Wren has shown in the last few days he's not playing around, maybe they will do something with Minor, because he's a walking disaster right now.

The Braves need to make a serious decision about Minor, whether its a trip back to Gwinnett or not, but they can't continue to run his ass out there and hope to have a chance to win. They have to go out and get them another starter.

Mike Minor just absolutely sucks right now. Whenever he's on the mound, he's guaranteed to give up four runs. They can't keep running him out there at this rate. And yes, I agree with those that say the Braves need another starter, maybe they can sucker someone into taking Minor's sorry ass.

This was a horrendous loss for the Braves, you have your ace on the mound and he gives one run and you can't win, that's pathetic.

A couple of post game notes, JUp left the game because his triceps tightened up on him after being hit earlier in the game, and Fredi says barring a setback, Gattis will be activated tomorrow.

I'm afraid to say this, but Cole Hamels has no-hit type stuff tonight, scoring a run might be a tough task indeed.
