Don’t mind losing dansby. Did not think he was worth fa prices. I am worried that Grissom isn’t able to handle it defensively. I will be upset if they do not upgrade lf and or dh given the punt on ss. If we sign a 2 war free agent ss you’ll have to explain that to me. Like our old friend...

i'm starting to go all in to the plan of getting hitters for LF and DH and going with Grissom/Arcia at SS. Maybe we can spread risk and get a Conforto and a Drury. Maybe Profar and Benintindi. Get an upgrade and keep the risk down. If Conforto or one of the guys isn't that good you have a...

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

So far it appears aa is doing exactly what many on the board wanted. He’s waiting out the free agents. Guys know what the Braves are willing to pay. Do you want max money or do you want to play on a stud team for good money? Might end up with nothing. Might end up with a stud.

I think they go traditional 2/3 in a series are Murphy.

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

Interesting article from Rosenthal about the As requiring 2 of your best in a trade for murphy. It made me think about a potential advantage of having a **** farm system. When the Braves had a stud system, we heard some reports that we missed out on guys like Yelich and Realmuto b/c the ask...

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

agree. With Fried being traded you have to find a partner that makes sense, and I don't think one exists. The Braves would have to get back impact guy(s) at SS, LF or DH that can play in the playoffs today. Is there a team that is desperate for a stud starter but can fill our other holes? I...

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

Maybe the A's did not want contreras.... Would you rather have given up Grissom than Contreras and kept the Brewers out?

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

I almost want to say Murphy said get me the hell out of here and he'll sign for 5/75 with infinity team options. Not really but that seems to be the AA plan.

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

braves much feel like wild bill isn't this good of a hitter and/or a really bad defender. Just read the Klaw article and he says he's not sure Contreras isn't the better player. Said Murphy likely 1-2 WAR more b/c of defense but Wild bill the better hitter. I know Murphy and Tda hit well...

Braves get Murphy 3 way deal

All of the people who say sell high on a player....I guess we did that with Wild Bill. I do not get giving up 5 years of Contreras, Tarnok and Muller for 3 years of Murphy. I did not think Contreras was that bad behind the plate. Maybe they think they will change the rules to make it easier...

Aa slander is awful. He’s won the division every year and a ws. He’s missed. Every gm misses. Some were odd from the start, ozuna is its own thing. I feel like every year he’s gone out and made a big move early. Not so this year. So maybe he is playing musical chairs with the ss to see who is...

This is valid. AA might have to give Snit clear instructions. If it's a Wed or Thursday and a RH is on the mound, put Correa at DH, Rosario in LF and Grissom at SS. Get Correa out of the field 25% or so of the time and do it on consecutive days

    Official official offseason thread

Correa is who I'd want as well. when he gets a little older you can slide him to 3B and slide riley to DH. Grissom/Ozuna/Rosario can battle it out for LF and hitting 8th. I think Correa wants to be on our team. But he's not coming for a discount. His agent has a reputation to maintain...

Braves acquire Joe Jimenez from Detroit

we would have to offer him a qualifying offer. It would likely be a really good year for us to even consider paying him that much.

Braves acquire Joe Jimenez from Detroit

So the pessimist in me says we sold high on Malloy b/c we didn't have any money. Trying to replace Kenly for 3 million. To take a point from your joke, the Braves seem to do a good job of knowing who to trade and who to keep. If they are moving on from him, I doubt Malloy is a starter. There...

If we are getting a marlin I think it will be Brian Anderson as a reclamation project. Back up 3b, compete in lf. He might want a place where he can start.

We do not have the stuff to get jazz. Nor renyolds imo. Even if someone likes our platter of 4/5 starters, Grissom and Malloy it’s for a guy with 2 or less years control. Division is going to be tough. Aa is going to have to be creative.

It’s not that the guys were too goood to trade. It’s that you can only trade them once.

This is a deal we likely do not have the juice to make. This is the main reason I did not like the Olson deal. Olson is a first baseman. Just pay for a bat. I’d rather have those Olson assets to get renyolds and have a guy at 1b. I wonder if there is a way to get super creative. If we lose...

I can't imagine Cohen letting him go to the Braves. It would have to be Nimmo wanting out or understanding the Braves are a better bet for team success. That said, I LOVE the idea of a high OBP player. I think that would be a great compliment to the current line up.
