Clearly the added money for 2015 doesn't matter. They aren't making more moves that matter on the 2015 salary and the management and owners clearly have the space to take on the added 2015 money, else the trade couldn't have happened. This year the money doesn't really matter though; The Braves obviously felt that it was worth taking on money this year (when it doesn't matter) to free up 10 Mill more for 2017 (due to not having Swisher, Bourn (likely not) or Johnson on the books) for moving into the new stadium.

Hmm, that is true, 10 mill would lead to a loss for the Braves, but on Twitter they are saying the money is offset... so, we will see.
