REAL FOOTBALL Thread

In my lifetime I haven't seen the Redskins appear in a Super Bowl. I have seen the Falcons appear in one and even win a few playoff games along the line, in addition to having generally pretty competitive teams the past 20 years.

The 80's were a long time ago. Definitely long enough where posting a picture of rings to distract from the present discussion of the **** storm of the RG3 era.

Yeah, anyone saying the Skins are more relevant right now or for the passed 25 years has their head in the sand. The only reason the skins have been talked about in that time period are because they made headlines for the extremely poor RG3 trade, Dan Snyder's meddling, or they are hiring a new coach again. They have made more headlines for dysfunction than success on the field.

But sure, the skins have some dusty old rings that half the population can't remember them winning. Hooray.

You were born after 1991? Damn.

The RG3 era has been a circus for sure. It also brought us the first division title in 13 years, I think. So that does count for something.

He is, he is Jon's brother and the last name carries weight, not saying it should but you think if his last name was Smith that he would've gotten the Washington job? I don't.

I don't know if I buy that argument. If they wanted a name, they would have gone after someone with their own reputation. Rightly or wrong on the coaching hire, I don't think name was the primary motivation. This is the same team that hired Jim Zorn as head coach and wanted to hire Jim Fassel.

Gruden was hired because he's chummy with Bruce Allen.

The Skins have not been relevant in terms of competitiveness since the early 1990s. Who disagrees with that? The Skins make headlines because they are in the big city. Having a marketable guy like RG3 just turned the attention even more.

*I remember and that's all that counts.

You make it sound like 91 waas recent, it was 24 years ago. To put into context, that was the year grunge broke through with Ten, Badmotorfinger, and NEvermind.

Well, being as I've read chops posts for seemingly 10 years, he would have had to be pre puberty at the time.

Well.. 1989, but I wasn't the biggest sports fan at 18 months old.

Your second statement validates exactly what I have been saying.

Reading some encouraging fluff pieces on Adrian Clayborn and Paul Worrilow and their PFF scores so far.

Just preseason, but I could buy improvements with those two, especially with a better supporting cast to help.

#Browns' failure to maximize '11 #NFL draft trade with #Falcons doesn't mean move was big win for ATL. Falcons worse record last 2 years.

#Falcons have terrific QB-WR combo because of that '11 trade, but bad OL, bad D, no depth. ATL is bad enough to lose with good QB play.

#Falcons 10-22 over past two years. #Browns 11-21. Great.

What is up with homeboy. I went to his twitter page to see if there was osmething going on. I think he's just mad jelly

I love how he picks the last 2 seaosn. Julio has been a Falcon for 4 years and he picks just the last 2 seasons? First off if the Falcons had Julio in 2013 they probably are a better team, and that debunks his sample, second the first 2 years they had Julio they made the playoffs, If you take literally any other sample, the Falcons are better than the Browns,

All 4 seasons - Falcons 33-31 Browns 20-44
First 3 seasons - Falcons 27-21 Browns - 13-35
Obviously won't pick on first or first 2 cause you know that's bad
Last 3 seasons - Falcons 23-25 Browns 16-32

Only reason he has a positive number is cause the BRowns won one more game last year. In a year the Falcons pissed away so many games and should have been at least 8-8

Who is Mike Sando?

Why would he dispute it was such a bad trade? It's not Rg3 bad, but pretty damn close

There are a lot of QBs that have started in the NFL. Doesn't mean they should be starting.

In all seriousness, why don't they just release RG3 and get it over with? He has no trade value and it's apparently too risky to play him due to the contract extension.
