DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

Looks like a Demacio pick. Back end starter profile. At least we took him at 80 instead of in the first round. On the positive side, he was ACC pitcher of the year

Passed on a bat to take another pitcher. Quinn, Hays, Fisher? Nah lets go get another pitcher.

Another pitcher at 80. Harrington from Louisville.

If Mendoza is signable, I would love for them to take him at 80. Hays, Quinn and Fisher all look like interesting college bats here too.

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

I understand what we did and why. But when you pick #3, you expect the guy to be a top 5 prospect in your system. It's a as though we went quality depth instead of premium talent. In this draft, that could have been the right call. It will be years before we know. But on the surface, it's tough...

Pac 12 player of the year with 16 HR. Hope he can stay behind the plate, but love the pick. Now excited to see what we do at 80. Horn probably BPA, but would love another hitter with power potential

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

I agree you don't reach because of a need. You should take BPA, and I know slots change strategy. But when you have the depth of pitching we have and the lack of bats, you should target bats. If we take Groome at 3, no argument. But when you "reach" for a pitcher and the ratio of hitters to...

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

I'd bet they were targeting bats at 40/44, and people didn't fall. They played the slot game and lost. 3 fine picks, but not the hitters we need

Would you rather have benson/jones or Anderson/wentz?

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

Didn't like the strategy, but looks like got 3 good arms. Would much rather have had Lewis at 3. They were probably hoping a good bat fell to 40, and it didn't work the way they wanted. We will never hear that though. Either way, 3 good arms to help through shutouts.

Bingo. Tried to play the board and screwed up

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

Major reach at 3. Get a bat. We have tons of arms in the system. Get hitters!

Perez only top bat still available. So I'd say it has already backfired

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

All that talk about wanting a bat and making a commitment to getting bats and needing to get bats in the system, and we take a HS pitcher that's not a top 10 talent at #3! It's just unbelievable

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

Hoping to get a top 10 talent at 40 instead of taking a top 5 talent at 3. Yea makes loads of sense. Great job Coppy. Smh

Groome and Lewis gone. So there goes that plan. Be interesting to see how this plays out now. Got a feeling we are going to be none too happy

DRAFT IN PROGRESS THREAD ... What's past is preamble

The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am. You suffer through the season the Braves did, your reward is a top pick to get a premium talent. We didn't do that
