Exactly. We could have gotten whoever at 40 regardless of who we took at 3. What Houston did last year is super super rare.

Could be. I don't see it and I doubt Braves FO think he was BPA either.
 
With Collins and Thais gone....I hope Chris Oakey falls to us...he'd be a great pick for a huge need at Catcher
 
I'll probably never sit down and watch MLB draft coverage ever again, and this has nothing to do with the Braves' pick. I mean, every single pick is comp'd to a freaking HOFer or elite current player with the caveat that they may never do anything. And we have to fill tons of dead time with this after every pick.

And there's really nothing you could do differently, either. But boy is it a terrible TV product.

He was in the top 10 in plenty of rankings. Read a scouting report. The bats all had major questions.

I just don't blindly follow them like some around here do. I form my own opinions. Anderson is a super reach at #3. The only reason to do this is save slot money for our later picks. I doubt it goes according to plan.

Two guesses (by bravesfanMatt and blueagleace1) got 1, 3 and 4 right.

Only JohnAdcock got 1-2 as Moniak and Senzel, but that was it.

Who says he's not top 10 material? A bunch of writers? Listen to what John Smoltz says about Anderson.

But there are probabilities. We took a guy who was less likely to be a top player. Sure he has a chance to be one but it's a lesser chance than other guys.

We drafted a lesser guy at 3 hoping to cash in at 40. That looks like it's not gonna happen now. We screwed up.
 
I'm bummed that we didn't get Senzel. He's pretty much the only position player that I really wanted before we went the pitching route.
