At least this saga will be over soon. We all knew Dansby wasn’t coming back, and we also knew we weren’t signing any of the other big ss. Now we can finally put all this to rest and begin the “damn you AA for rolling out Arcia and Grissom at ss” messages.

At least it wasn’t the Mets. My guess is Dansby ends up in Minnesota or LA now.

Quality over quantity. Contreras didn’t really fit as our future catcher. TDA is old. Murphy is 28 and a stud. Other pieces were used to necessitate the trade. The deal was good from a positional upgrade standpoint. However, resources weren’t maximized to fill our other holes at ss and lf.

Lol I think it’s safe to say nobody knows what’s going on. I’ve seen reports on Twitter that we’ve sent out Contreras, Anderson, Pina, Ynoa, Ozuna and Grissom for Murphy and Adames. I think we should all just take a breath until we see the final deal.

I disagree with this statement. That’s like saying “well I have enough money for an Audi so clearly I can afford a Hyundai. But I’d rather not own a Hyundai and if I’m unwilling to spend my money on that car then I clearly can’t afford an Audi.” Just because you elect to not spend money on...

If Turner got 11/300 and Xander got 11/280, and both are a few years older than Correa, my guess is 11/300 is the absolute least amount Correa takes. Maybe he goes 10/300 to get a higher AAV but my guess is he’ll want the years as well as the 30+ AAV.

Nobody has said we can’t afford Dansby. The overwhelming consensus is AA doesn’t want to pay Dansby what he’s commanding. AA is all about value and he has a $ amount he feels Dansby is worth. Once the asking price exceeds that, it sounds like AA is willing to walk away.
