Official official offseason thread

Looks like it’s Dansby or bust for us.
I’m preparing myself for Grissom at short next season.
I think/hope Acuna,Olson and a full year of Ozzie makes up for the regression that’s sure to come for some of our other players and having Grissom at short compared to Swanson.

At least this saga will be over soon. We all knew Dansby wasn’t coming back, and we also knew we weren’t signing any of the other big ss. Now we can finally put all this to rest and begin the “damn you AA for rolling out Arcia and Grissom at ss” messages.

Just sign Andrus for 1 year as insurance. The contracts this offseason are insane.

Andrus and a LF'er like Brantley, Conforto, Peralta etc would be fine. No way can i see AA pay the money it'll take for Dansby.

I hate to even say this, but Dansby had a great year. He ain’t worth any more than what AA offered. I would hate to see us blow ten year mega deal money on him.

Dodgers are to smart and won’t give in like these other teams.

Freeman fell into his lap at a position of need, cant see them pay the premium money for Dansby. They'll eventually sign some players but i'd be surprised if they were the high bidder on Dansby.

I’m sure they won’t get any better next off-season. Out of curiosity, who are the available ss free agents next off season?

I just looked and these are the ss free agents next season. Only two names here worth a damn. Amed Rosario and Tim Anderson.

Javier Baez
Brandon Crawford
Urshela
Amed Rosario
Nick Ahmed
IKF
Miguel Rojas
Paul DeJong
Tim Anderson

Or hope Grissom is as good as Wash is hyping him up to be, and he can be our Jeremy Pena.

Doesn't matter given the last two off-seasons as proof the Braves have no intention of being a serious suitor.

I don’t agree with this. We are, we just have a different philosophy of building a roster than other teams. AA likes to build around value vs investing the majority of his payroll in 2-3 guys. He has the money and has invested it in our team. Just in other ways.

Top of the market contracts dont age well. SP is a position i'd hope we splurge on next year given the money coming off the books, some decent options next year especially if Charlie retires and/or we decline his option. AA has shown he'll spend, just not gonna go to the insane amount the guys like Turner, Correa, etc got. And those deals on the back wont be pretty.

But might depend how Soroka does, Anderson and if anyone else emerges. I guess we could maybe sign a DH too, not really a big list of needs with everyone else locked in.
