GDT #6, 4/6/'14: Braves (Wood) @ Nationals (Jordan) 1:35 PM EST [The Dark Wood Rises]

When your 1 and 2 hitters are a combined 6/55 (.109), your offense is going to struggle.

Well, at least we won the series. We've squandered way too many chances today.

THis is what baseball is all about: beating the Nationals.

B.J. Upton: the gift that keeps on giving. So glad we're sticking with him in the 2-hole. I'm sure it'll eventually pay off.

See, he's already down from 60% from last game. Before you know it he'll actually start putting the ball in play 2-3 times a game, and hell, he may even start collecting a hit once a series or at least once every other series.

    I hate Aramis Ramirez.

That's not what you want. A lead-off hit with Braun and Ramirez coming up.

How many times have we hit the ball out of the infield?

    GDT #3 April 2, 2014 Braves @ Brewers

Well, at least we had a runner get on base...so there's that.

It's official. Harang is a better hitter than B.J.

    GDT #3 April 2, 2014 Braves @ Brewers

I know it's early, but at this point you almost have to have Harang somewhere near the top of your Cy Young ballot.

Huh...don't see that too often. The Braves actually recorded an out during an Aramis Ramirez AB.

    GDT #3 April 2, 2014 Braves @ Brewers

    It wouldn't be a 1st inning without a B.J. Upton strikeout.

    GDT #2 April 1, 2014 Braves @ Brewers

Two runs scored and B.J. actually put the ball in play before recording an out this time! I'm not sure which one impressed me the most!

Down 1-0. Given recent trends against the Brewers, this doesn't bode well for us.

Yeah, Durant's season has been remarkable. Him winning MVP this year would be more than justified. It wouldn't be a Derrick Rose-esque 2011 MVP campaign...not even close. In terms of just scoring, I honestly believe this season rivals any of MJ's best scoring seasons and he's on the verge of...

Fair enough. I don't watch them enough to know them in and out like a Wizards fan. I just think they do have the talent that, on any given night, is capable of playing with and beating the best teams in the league. Granted I only really see them when they play the Thunder and maybe 2 or 3...

And, if you're an advanced stats guy, his TS% is going to be around +10% above the league average which is absurd at that volume of scoring. Even in Jordan's best years he was only around +5% or +6%. I mean he's killing it in every advanced metric, too, but in terms of his scoring, which is...

Eh, the Wizards have a decent roster. Their frontcourt is formidable and Beal is a really good young shooting guard. I mean sure, they're still mostly an average team, but they do have some talent outside of Wall.

    GDT Opening Day - Braves @ Brewers - 3/31/2014

Guess now is as good of a time as any to hop on the Red Sox bandwagon.
