I’ll defer to your superior observations on his defensive play thus far. Nevertheless, I think with a kid that young, you let him see if he can improve his defensive actions (especially given his top-tier speed and good arm), and then move him off later if it comes to that. Miller, meanwhile...

I’d imagine Lodise will take the bulk of reps at SS and Miller will move around the infield and maybe play some OF, given the former needs more SS experience while the latter already boasts quality defensive versatility as a positive trait.

To expand on this: Gil has been playing a lot of 3B since Miller arrived in Low-A. However, Gil has legitimate potential to stick at SS, but needs to be tested full-time. It’s mlb.com, so salt this info accordingly, however:

Sensible. He’s 21, a college player, and looks (albeit in a small sample) to be over-advanced for Low-A. Meanwhile, the Braves need to keep getting John Gil reps at SS—especially now that he’s showing some power to complement his speed and hit-tool.
