If DeGrom pitches like he did in 2025, then yes, easily.

But Lopez is a likely notably worse pitcher and he is trying to return from should surgery. And he's a pitcher who has thrown over 130 innings exactly once since 2019. DeGrom is actually less of an injury risk.

All pitchers are injury risks. At least the upside is pretty massive.

Seagar's contract is just so hard to absorb. I realize on the surface he would probably get 6/180 right now if he were a FA, but he's 31 and he can't stay healthy. You can take that risk on someone like Buxton who only has 3 years remaining. But 6 years at 30m per is tough to take on.
