So what the fuck is left to negotiate with Bassitt? If he’s standing firm at three years or being ridiculous and asking north of 25 million, move on the next guy.
It's the most AA thing ever to address two pitchers going on the 60 day IL with bringing back yet another weak-hitting infielder that he's going to have to turn around and DFA for the 50th time.
I don’t know - maybe not this serious but I feel like every year the first day or two of spring we get word someone isn’t going to be ready because they had this or that. Supposedly this happened well over a week ago so it’s not they got smacked with it today or yesterday.
I don't know if it's blind to reality as much as potential arrogance that now puts us in a situation where we have next to no leverage with a Gallen or a Bassitt or a trade. He gambled the wrong way - and for what? To protect Elder's and Wentz's spots on the roster?
There has to be some sort of flaw somewhere in the pitching training and development part of the organization. Sale breaking rib diving for a flare is one thing. There have now been way too many incidents.
Good for Marcell but no thanks on that price. Would still be mildly interested in Hoskins or Grichuk if nothing else comes together for them that offers more playing time. Otherwise, keep the focus on pitching.
$20 million is not going to make or break the TV situation. If it does, we have bigger issues to talk about. It was the same situation as when we committed ~60-65 million to Iglesias, Suarez, Yazstremski, Kim. and Kinley.
