2025-2026 offseason thread

The issue is- and will be- none of those guys have near the ceiling SS did.

Hell he was one of the best pitchers in the NL last year.

It’s a major step down.
The issue is that if they don’t get one of those guys or make a trade, the floor is going to be a lot lower.

Schwelly on the 60 day with elbow inflammation.

Do we still need to have this stupid discussion about the need for additional SP depth? Or are people still so naive they think this staff has anyone likely to remain healthy and effective?

Anyone stupid enough to think this team had enough SPs is a complete idiot.

I said back in October that counting on SS2 was dumb. Shattering an elbow while just throwing was easily going to lead to bone spurs. I gen said he would go don with them. But then I am also not fun at parties so what ev. Joying my day at Disney. Another year I won’t really pay much attention to.

Sooner a new front office the better.

Guess you said it for me

There has to be some sort of flaw somewhere in the pitching training and development part of the organization. Sale breaking rib diving for a flare is one thing. There have now been way too many incidents.

I don't know if it's blind to reality as much as potential arrogance that now puts us in a situation where we have next to no leverage with a Gallen or a Bassitt or a trade. He gambled the wrong way - and for what? To protect Elder's and Wentz's spots on the roster?

The Kim injury was almost completely unforeseeable.

The Schwelly injury was easily foreseen, as is the next injury to one of the injury-riddled SPs. Very disappointing.
