It's still a really good team on paper but paper don't win games. AA has assembled the riskiest team in baseball and has yet to fill the biggest need the past 2 years in a SP. The season is obviously not punted but we are behind the 8 ball before the first ST game with blah SP options...

I agree. I'd rather have Giolito than not. Sooner than later the luck has to change. I hope.

Giolito can help alot if he's healthy but he's as injury prone as what we've already got.

The part that bothers me is they don't know a timetable part. They are gonna wait to see what the specialist says. Hopefully it's good news for a change.

Waldrep going to see an elbow specialist is usually the kiss of doom. Waldrep was probably gonna start the year in AAA before Schwellenbach went down and is our biggest depth piece. That's shot now so AA is really gonna look desperate and you can't trade Ritchie at this point.

Waldrep's elbow is acting up wow. Loose bodies in there don't sound good at all so I'm gonna expect the worst. I've never seen anything like this and ST just started. He says money isn't an issue and neither is the QO but Cease would look pretty good on the team right now.

I'm guessing Lopez is gonna be babied through ST. If he's still at 91 in a month then yeah he's clearly toast.

We had the same concerns last year as this year and still not one SP has been acquired. If that's not a fail I don't know what is. If the season goes south bc of SP injuries then AA needs to be on the hot seat and there's no way to spin that.

I agree. He completely struck out last offseason when it was our biggest need and he whiffed again this offseason. He's gun shy when it comes to SP for some reason but if he doesn't get somebody before the season starts we could see a repeat of last year.

I think he's trying to work a trade but it's gonna be hard this close to ST. I doubt he ever had interest in Bassitt if the financial numbers are real.

I don't think Murphy could have been moved bc of the hip. Bummer is getting way too much and that money would help a lot right now. Ritchie is so close that the team probably don't wanna trade him bc he's gonna be a big cheap piece for us this year. I wouldn't trade Cam just bc his upside is...

So basically he has 8-14 million for a SP if he wants to have 10-15 for the deadline. Just pay the price for Joe Ryan then and have him for 2 years.
