Technically Nacho made a top 100 list or two, even though he was never going to stick as a SS.

There is a lot to like about him, just not a lot film or scouting reports on him yet. But I've been tracking him since last year. Was in my top 30 before the season. Even with it being early in the FCL, he's quite clearly too advanced for that league. You don't even see elite prospects on a...

That's not really the point. Williams was still a unanimous top 100 prospect. As far as his defense, he doesn't have enough data on his defense at the ML level to make any determinations. But he was widely considered to be an elite defensive SS in the minors. Whatever his defensive metrics are...

I wish we could get some EV data on him. Is he a guy who hits the ball hard consistently but has a flat swing or is he always just going to be a guy with average-below average power?

Also, Lodise gets overlooked because of the swing and miss issues, but the defense is legitimately great. He doesn't need to hit much to be a quality prospect and a legitimate starting SS candidate for us. Just look at Carson Williams.

Owen Carey has been on the 7 day IL sinc 4/20. I haven't seen an update on his status. Hope it's not anything serious, but I imagine at this point he will require get a rehab stint in the FCL.

Maybe we should just spend our draft pool on cold weather prep players. A couple are bound to break out into legitimate stars.

    GDT 5/10/26: Braves @ Dodgers - Mother’s Day Game!!!

I do hope we can get Freddie back for his final 2-3 seasons and see if he can get to 3k hits and maybe even 500 homers (unlikely but possible). He needs about 3 more seasons after this year to get to 3k hits, assuming he remains good/healthy enough to get 600 PAs each season (and assuming there...

I want to be too overdramatic here, but as far as I can tell, the Braves have only had 4 prospects in the last 20 years who have put up a 15+ homer season in the minors before they turned 20 (or at least in a season in which they started the season at age 19,. I didn't check the birthdates)...

Well he hit the lottery twice with Elder and Perez, and both pitchers are indeed due for some regression (Elder less so than Perez). But Holmes and Lopez are basically out of the rotation at this point. That's something that many of us suspected might happen. If not for Perez and Elder, we'd...

    GDT 5/10/26: Braves @ Dodgers - Mother’s Day Game!!!

I would assume they are utilizing the concussion IL on White so they can keep Farmer on the bench a few more days. He'll be snatched up quickly when he is DFA'd by a team that needs depth. And in the event someone else gets hurt in the next 7 days, then we don't lose a decent bench piece. Edit...

Not much to talk about from the FCL. Still no Tornes, Sinnard, or McKenzie. Of note though, is that Michael Martinez continues to shove. In 6 games thus far, he has 8 BBs to 1 K and a .577 OBP. He's already 19 and spent some time in the FCL last year, so I don't imagine he'll be there long...

I don't want to put unfair expectations on the kid, but his game reminds me a lot of Corbin Carroll.

Yeah I've been leary of this for awhile. I think it showed a position player with better Stuff+ than Bryce Elder a few weeks ago. All I know is that the 4 seamer was on par with 2023 Strider. Similar velocity (96.4 vs 97.2) and IVB (17.3" vs 18.4") but it actually got significantly better...
