    Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

The lack of infield depth scares me more than the outfield. There are a lot of options for the outfield still available (Soler, Rosario, Peterson, Conforto, Castellanos, Schwarber). There are no good free agent options for infield depth IMO. The team needs an upgrade over Arica. After the...

    Matt Olson to Braves!

I wonder if AA is more shaken by Freeman leaving or that he gave up 4 prospects to get a player? It's very much in character for AA not give out a long term high AAV deal. It's very out of character for AA to part with 4 prospects. Especially prospects with the potential to contribute. I'm...

If the Braves miss on Freeman and Olson, I would be ok with getting Chapman from the A's and sliding Riley to 1st. I think Chapman is a better player than his stats from last year. Would signing Rizzo and Conforto make sense for the Braves. The two of them will be cheaper than Freeeman.

I totally believe the Dodgers were in the 2/80 range for Scherzer. That’s a very Dodger move. They aren’t dumb. So who was the third team that drove this to a 3 / 130 deal?? Is it possible the Mets were bidding against themselves. Lol. 3 / 130 is an insane amount even for a very good...

    Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Lol. The Mets just signed 3 - 33 year olds coming off career years and people think they just got a lot better. 4/78 for a 33 year old CF that is not an especially good defender or has much power coming off a career high babip year. That contract will age well. Glad AA stayed away...

    Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

AA needs to stick with the blueprint he has used the last 4 years. Short term high AAV contracts, trading for and signing players with peripherals that indicate they will have positive regression, having depth in the minors and the bench to help weather injuries, having payroll flexibility at...

    Wash and the Shift

Absolutely amazing that AA was able get buy in from the coaches. It’s hard to get guys that have been doing something their entire life one way to change their mindset. My guess is Wash getting the analytics guys on the field started out as a meeting to show them how they were wrong and it...

    Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

I’m putting my money in AA going after Soler as this years big one year contract. I think Soler has the most upside of the 4 outfielders acquired this year. My guess is the money saved on Ozuna would get Soler for a year. ( I’m assuming Ozuna gets a 162 game suspension)

Around the League - 2021 Szn

I’ve always been a fan of the throw back Black Cracker uniforms. Rename the team the Black Crackers. Showing respect to the Negro Leagues might be good for a city with a divided past.

I think Brian Bridges is a little bitter about being fired by the Braves. The writer left off the part that all the players Coppy cheated to sign aren’t good at baseball.

Should tribes include their name on casinos? Will the next generations see Native Americans as just gamblers. How does being associated with gaming uplift people other than monetarily? Everything in life can be considered offensive if you look hard enough. I would say that celebrating a...

GDT 10/23/21 NLCS Game 6 Dodgers @ Braves: It’s Time

The 1991 Braves have always been my favorite because they did what they weren’t supposed to do. This team is taking over as my favorite. AA deserves an MVP award for remaking this team mid season

Luke needs to be DFA immediately. He always has and always will suck.

The Secret to Atlanta’s Defensive Turnaround

I have a feeling Skip and Tom Glavines mind has just been blown. Shift that.

    Ron Washington

The Washington for manager story seems like a way for Preller and and Padres to be relevant during the playoffs. They are just trying to win another offseason on paper while other teams are trying to win a season on the field.

Around the League - 2021 Szn

The NL East got lucky when the Mets new owner came in with the plan to win it all with a perennial underachieving team. Just imagine what the Mets could have been in three years if the new ownership had decided to rebuild. Trading Conforto, Thor and DeGrom before the season would have brought...

Around the League - 2021 Szn

Im sure the players will be motivated and will do much better now that an old an billionaire has called them out on Twitter. Cohen is as dumb as the Wilson’s but with a bigger mouth and ego. It’s going to be fun watching him totally screw up the Mets. Hopefully he spends stupid money...

    Selling At the Deadline

The longer the season goes the more I think the Braves should move on from Snit. He’s been a good manager but I’m not sure he can mange the team to the playoffs with a less than ideal roster. His lack of strategic ability is really showing this year.

    Selling At the Deadline

Trading Freeman could get weird since he has 10 and 5 rights. However, if Freeman is done as a Brave a trade increases his value because he won’t have draft pick compensation attached to him. Trading Swanson makes since if the plan is to chase one of the free agent SS this winter.

    Grading Ynoa's stuff

It would nice to see one of the many young arms the Braves have turn into a high leverage bullpen asset. It’s a little frustrating that all the arms haven’t yielded one really good homegrown bullpen piece.
