    Minor League Thread Part Deux

Waldrep with an absolutely disgusting 751 spin rate on his splitter last night. 60% whiff rate. But yeah, it's totally dumb to call it a "deadly" pitch, @Enscheff LMAO.

    2025 Trade Deadline Thread

A couple of MLB.com writers made their deadline predictions and both had Ozuna going to the Rangers. Straight guesses I assume, but he makes a lot of sense for them.

    1. Google is your friend. What I said is easily backed up. But here's a little article detailing it https://www.cnn.com/2025/06/21/business/sports-team-sales-prices-soar 2. Owning a sports franchise can certainly be more of a status symbol among the elite. 3. It's a tax shelter. 4. It's...

Look I'm just trying to be optimistic here and in a season full of dog shit. If he can be a .750ish OPS hitter, he can be useful.

If we eat the entire contract, I hope that maybe we can get back a return similar to Naylor.

I'm not including his handful of at bats in April. That seems like a useless baseline at this point. There was nearly 3 months between then and when he returned from suspension.

I didn't listen to it, but someone on X said MLB Radio guys were discussing Iggy. They mentioned AA is waiting. He is taking calls on Iggy but he probably won't be moved until after the reliever market starts heating up. AA is willing to eat money and whatever team misses out on the top guys...

I don't think there is any way that someone would take Profar. I'm just glad he's hitting relatively well since coming back. And his EV during this time is 88.2, which is higher than his career average and 2nd only to last season. If he can maintain this level of offense, he'll be useful...

    2025 Trade Deadline Thread

Even our 2 catcher system hasn't always had 2 really good bats at the same time. We can easily sign a decent back up catcher in the off-season if that is our goal.

I would be surprised if the Braves make much money. Most major sports franchises don't actually make money. Most barely break even. The value comes from owning the team, which tends to increase in value exponentially over the years. If you have money to burn and want to see your initial...

I won't deny that Loria screwed over whatever chance the Marlins had at creating a large baseball following in FL. But at this point, the damage is done and it's too late to reverse it. I mean the Rays are cheap too, but they are actually managed well and make the playoffs on a semi-regular...

Hopefully AA learned his lesson there. Granted the Jays went their first of 2 straight ALCS's a couple years later, but hindsight shows they probably should have sold high on some players. Most notably, Colby Rasmus was at peak value and would have netted a huge prospect haul at just 26 years...

I would raise the floor considerably and I would put all the teams on national TV, so that all media rights get split evenly. A rising tide lifts all ships. For the "cap" I would just make harsher rules on the luxury tax to dissuade teams from going over it.

The NFL does pretty great in terms of parity actually. Currently only 5 of the 32 teams have an active playoff streak of 3 years or longer. Only 3 teams haven't made the playoffs in the last 5 years.

It doesn't matter whose fault it is. LA and NY have a competitive advantage simply by being in the media market that they are in. It has nothing to do with who their owners are. They will inherently make way more money than 80% of the other teams in baseball regardless how good/bad they actually...

    Braves Acquire Erick Fedde

I've linked the scouting reports with spin rates several times for Scheff to peruse. He either doesn't believe them or he simply doesn't read them. Is it possible the spin data was wrong? Sure. I don't find it likely, but it's possible. It's far more likely the Braves have messed with his...
