Grissom has shown he can hit above an .850 OPS in his time in the minors.

Grissom had a career .867 OPS in the minors. Kid can hit. Expecting him to put up low .700s OPS like Dansby did for most of his career is not a stretch by any means.

Isn't some of the point of the extensions to increase the player's pay during pre arb and some arb years and save the team from huge salary seasons during a prime free agent time (as well as later arb seasons)? Shouldn't this workout to be robbing Peter now to pay Paul later? And if so...

That's too much. Guy missed his age 29 season and is going into his age 30 season with injury concerns. It's like a half Ozuna contract.

It's not that nice as a season ticket holder though... I'm about to have to pay 10 grand to sit in the Friggin outfield bleachers because payroll growth is outpacing inflation by about 14x the rate. They need to get a little bit of a grip on it.

    FG Grades NLDS Managers

I don't understand why you can't just point out where someone is mistaken with being a total a-hole about it. Take out the "and apparently you?" portion of your post and it's fine. You'll probably teach some people here by simply advocating for your position instead of attacking someone who...

Agree with the Grissom take 100%. He's too good of a hitter to get 2 AB a week with the MLB club. He needs to supersub or start back in AAA. I know it "thins" the bench technically, but I'd like to see up package Pina and a C level prospect for someone to eat the Ozuna contract. Surely...

I want to agree and disagree with you at the same time. Snitker does a terrible job with load management, that we agree on. However, they sat Acuna a bunch after bringing him back, I'm assuming at the direction of the FO. He had several multiple game rest periods anytime he got the slightest...

    GTD 10/14/22: Braves @ Philthies - NLDS Game 3

Friend Fried gave up 6 and Strider gave up 4 in less than 3 innings... If we come back and score 5-6 runs like we did in game 1 it's absolutely on the pitching. The runs still count if we score them late.

    GTD 10/14/22: Braves @ Philthies - NLDS Game 3

If he gives you 3 or close to it, don't you have to go directly to McHugh? Pitching Odorizzi is just asking for it. I think we try to get 5 combined out of Strider and McHugh. Whatever they can't do (or can) Lee gets you through 6. That's the plan with a lead or behind by a run or two. If...

I could live with that logic... As long as we pivot to Heredia late in the game w/ a lead.

    GTD 10/14/22: Braves @ Philthies - NLDS Game 3

The positive is we can limit him to 1-2 at bats with the long bench and PH Contreras in a big spot. Grossman and Heredia can come in to play LF after the PH.

Contreras would be the DH... that's why I'm comparing him with Ozuna. He played only one game in LF and they aren't doing that again in the playoffs. And yes, recency bias is most definitely a factor in picking a lineup.

Not sure what it joke would be? Billy is cold since the Mets series and Ozuna has 3 career HR's vs Nola. It's a matchup call.

If you take out game 162 against non competitive Marlins pitching finishing out the season (he went 2-3 with 2 BB in that game) William has been cold at the plate. .594 OPS the 8 games before that. Huge GDP in game 1 with the bases loaded.

    Statcast Arm Strength Leaderboard

Nope... I would agree... all my qualms are with the average and the fact that the OF and SS will always have higher numbers. You are 100% correct that Max velo is the best read. Statcast does have the caveat "Given that there is no rulebook definition of "a throw where the player is trying...

We also have to factor in that Strider hasn't learned how to not throw 20+ pitches per inning. I'm only counting on 3+ for him. He and McHugh combined need to get us to the 6th.
