Something has to happen with the BP. It wasn't all on Iggy last night but he's become hittable and that's not good when his fastball sits at 95. Meanwhile, Days has had trouble finding the plate and is wriggling out of jams of his own making. Montero should never sniff a close game. Right now Lee is probably the best reliever which is not something I would have ever imagined.
I would say that about the pitching in general, not just the pen.People continue to not pay attention and just assume the bullpen is bad because we didn’t add a big name in the off-season.
I definitely agree. Unless the offense continues to scuffle this badly, I imagine Alex is going to let the lineup do its thing with Ronnie and Profar both scheduled to return and add another arm with elite metrics but meh on-field results at the deadline.Just because the BP is not awful does not mean we don't need upgrades. BP pieces are relatively cheap at the deadline and a shutdown pen is critical for deep playoff success.
pen pieces that are a clear upgrade from the Brave's high leverage guys are not as cheap as you make.. we are not talking JJ level guys, but more Mason Miller type guys..Just because the BP is not awful does not mean we don't need upgrades. Kenley Jansen is a high leverage pitcher on an expiring contract. He isn't going to cost a major prospect. May be not even anyone in our current top 10.pen pieces that are a clear upgrade from the Brave's high leverage guys are not as cheap as you make.. we are not talking JJ level guys, but more Mason Miller type guys..
Feel like the Braves should have their fingers crossed Minnesota falls off and decides at the deadline because Correa and Pablo Lopez would solve a lot of this team's problems potentially without costing a lot (in terms of prospects).Kenley Jansen is a high leverage pitcher on an expiring contract. Ditto for Kyle Finnegan and Pete Fairbanks. And that's without factoring teams that will most likely sell at the deadline, like Minny, Baltimore, Cincy, Toronto, Milwaukee, etc.
I think Correa might be toast. Seems like an unnecessary risk at this point. Wilie Castro would be a decent pick up though. He seems like someone who is likely rebound from his poor start to the season.Feel like the Braves should have their fingers crossed Minnesota falls off and decides at the deadline because Correa and Pablo Lopez would solve a lot of this team's problems potentially without costing a lot (in terms of prospects).
