09/13/23 GDT Braves @ Phillies Here Before, Here Again

I love Charlie Morton. I hope he chooses to give the Braves one more year.

Gentlemen…… congratulations to the best group of sports fans on the planet. Without our reverse jinxing and key GDT construction….over-reacting and melting down … questioning everything we don’t understand, and dinosaur bashing…. religiously celebrating with our bouncing mascots…. Without all of this, (and not to mention our team mom).this team would be in third place right now-

So well done boys.

Also shows the chosen one what having a legit, good forum name from the start of season can do. Best one we have had in years and well we see how the Braves reacted.

The Phillies are lucky the DBacks have lost 2 straight as the D-Backs are currently the 1st team out of the playoffs if the season ended today. The Reds were actually 5.5 games behind the Phillies when we started the series. They are just 3.5 back with a chance to be 3 games back with a win tonight. And they have the head to head tiebreaker with AZ. For those wondering, the Phillies have the tiebreaker over both Cincy and AZ.

The Cubs really blew a chance to gain ground too.. playing Colorado and all.

The last 30+ years has been really incredible. October success hasn't been the best but having something worthwhile to watch virtually every year has been wild.

People need to stop acting like its championships or nothing. All anyone should ever ask for is to see their team win it all once. Theres been a lot of great stuff over the years that arent the championships. The 91 worst to first season. The Otis Nixon catch. The NLCS's vs the Pirates are my favorite series of all the times. The 93 division comeback. The Andruw Jones 1996 world series game 1. Keeping the division streak alive despite media constantly predicting our downfall. The 2005 Division title with the baby braves, which is still my favorite season of Braves baseball. The NLCS comeback against the Cardinals from down 3-1. Honestly its much more fun to be the underdog overachieving than the overdog who everyone expects to win.

Bally's allowed the replay last night so I was able to watch the game and the post-game celebration. It never gets old!

This is random, but I just rewatched highlights of the 2022 series against the Phillies (I know, I know) and I cannot believe how lucky they got. Some of the hits looked a lot like us in 2021... they just got down when they really had no business doing so. The announcer at one point literally said, "WOW! The Phillies... living a charmed life." It's going to take that and more for them to make that run this year, I'd think.

I'm really hoping for a White Sox 2005 type beat down in the playoffs from the Braves. Just deep dick everybody

It wasn't just the lucky hitting for them. Somehow the worst defensive OF in the majors was catching literally everything coming their way.

I just think about that insane catch right after Matt's three-run homer in Game 1. Had Atlanta scored there, there's no way in hell they lose that series IMO.
